When doing an ultrasound of the axillary vein inside the armpit, what is the proper arm positioning? I had 2 ultrasounds done with very different outcomes. One ultrasound had a partial DVT in the axillary vein and my arm was positioned up over my head like I was raising my hand (armpit to ceiling). In the 2nd ultrasound I had my arm down slightly out to my side and I had no clot. Could this first positioning have caused me to have a false DVT reading? Thank you
