Perfume Tray of the Week - February 2025

Hello! I'm planning to upload videos twice a week on my channel - once on Saturday or Sunday, and again on Wednesday. The end-of-week videos will focus on my perfume tray of the week - the perfumes I planned to wear, the perfumes I actually wore, and a reset of the tray for the upcoming week. On Wednesdays I plan to post videos about other perfume related topics, particularly perfume collecting for "regular people" on a budget! Thank you so much for watching, I really appreciate it!

It's always interesting to see what people have in their perfume collections. The variety is amazing. I'm from the school of thought that no two people should smell exactly the same. The world would be boring if we all smelled like a collective fragrance Borg.

Well said! I could not agree more! I don't want my collection to look like everyone else's. I want it to look like me, and then I want to peer into everyone else's collections and learn about them through their perfumes.

(I'm dreadful at clicking folks' names to check 😅) What a way to find out with the shoutout, thank you! 💜 I really enjoyed your video and I think this idea of not just a perfume tray but revisiting how it actually went is so cool. I also really like the idea of keeping a perfume journal. I mainly use Fragrantica for that but actually writing it out sounds lovely and definitely agree in that being some self-care. Funnily enough I was *just* looking at Crystal Noir last night! I see a purchase in my future now 🤣 Thanks for the lovley video!

@@perfumejournal Awww well thank you! That's wild to me but I so appreciate it! I've never actually set a tray but I think I might try it out. I sometimes find my mind goes blank when choosing my scent for the day. So I'm thinking perhaps a more edited down selection will help me pick (Or at least, knowing me, be a great jumping off point to say "Right, none of these, I'll go with this one!" 😂)

@ yep, yep, it’s like a nice little starting point for those days when I just can’t be bothered to make a decision in the morning. And on the days that I can, I veer off sideways and just choose something else!

Hi Danielle! I sold my bottle of Crystal Noir! 😅 But I get how you feel about this one. It’s just that this one became “too much” for my nose. Taste changes unfortunately… L’Artisan Parfumeur makes great perfumes, Drôle de rose and La chasse aux papillons are the ones I currently own but I’d like to discover more scents by this house.

Hi Julie! Thank you for watching! I went through a "I am so sick of Crystal Noir" phase, but for some reason I didn't get rid of it. Now I'm all about it again. Usually once a perfume is gone, I don't regret it, but something must have been telling me to hold on to this one and not let it go, yet! I totally get what you mean about it being too much. L'Artisan does make so many beautiful perfumes, if I can find a partial at a good price, it makes it even better. I love shopping for secondhand 'fumes!

@ Thank you! Yes, I have chosen not to get caught up in the consumerism aspect of perfume collecting (especially in the social media space), and focus on it as a form of self-care. I love exploring, writing, wearing, all of the aspects of perfume enthusiasm that bring joy. I appreciate you recognizing that!

I'm the same with my minis. They're in a different place than my FBs and I keep forgetting about them. For my Spring fragrance capsule, I made sure to dig into the minis and decants. I just need to figure out how to place them in the tray so they don't fall over

RIGHT? They never stay up! I keep my travels in one of those lucite lipstick holders, which is great, but when I put them on the tray, they always fall over. I guess if one broke it wouldn't be as bad as losing a 100ml bottle to the wreckage!

Five years ago I purchased Crystal Noir EDP and I was totally anosmic to it. I was so disappointed after seeing all the great reviews. I just took it out of my little perfume jail cabinet and for the first time I could smell it!!!

@perfumejournal It did smell really nice but I haven't worn it yet. I'm hoping I can smell it on my skin and it performs well. Narciso For Her was another I was anosmic to for months. It's got to be some aroma chemical I can't smell.
