Aaron, your reviews show that you are a thoughtful person. You're the only one I've seen discuss the impact on the planet, price vs value etc. I appreciate that. I laughed when you told us about your 'trash monster' moment .... we all have them, including those elegant, chic French people who were on business, not compounding stuff, when they arrived. I'm sure they too, have their shlumpy times.

Hi Aaron, hope your well and in good health. Can you do a review on 'Chanel Coromandel' everyone is talking about it and would like to hear your views on this great release.

Love the review! You should review Coromandel, Sycamore, and Comete!

I really love this one. One of my favorite fougeres. Very wearable and elegantly inspired by Arthur, to Chanel’s point. I usually go anosmic to it, while the sillage is prominent, to your point.

Love the videos! Would you ever consider doing a breakdown and comparison of the whole Terre d’Hermes line? (though I know you don’t like them much XD). Or maybe something from Goldfields and Banks :)

Hi Aaron. You have to review Coromandel by Chanel. It is quintessential French perfumery. One of my favourite fragrances.

From boutique line I also suggest Sycomore, Cuir de Russie and famous Coromandel. Also 1957, but it’s the most feminine

@CircusInto I've grown to like feminine fragrances on me lol (mainly for layering) so I'll definitely check out 1957 also. Thank you!

@yukiaditya7352 I recently tried Coromandel, it's like softer version of Le Lion. I just looked up Bel Respiro and it looks interesting - I saw someone describe it as a powdery green; I LOVE powdery fragrances

If we could move away from the plastic lid, how about the pressure pipe from inside the bottle. Is it made from plastic too? And if so, how can we change this? .

Hi Aaron, can you do a review of Kenzo homme EDP? Absolute masterpiece from Quentin Bisch. Not a lot of people know about this gem, a very unique leathery summery fragrance which has amazing projection and lasts all day. It’s also super cheap for the quality.

How can we request a review? I recently got a bottle of Ormonde Jayne Montobacco intensivo and I quite like it. the description of french perfumery made me think of montobacco intensivo. it's ab elegant, sophisticated fragrance that's quiet. It is the epitome lf "understated elegance" and is one of my favorite fragrances I wear that’s simply just a nice smelling fragrance. It’s not an eye rolling to the back of my head type of fragrance, but I can still get goose bumps some time and most importantly, I am able to enjoy it enough that it reminds me of how wonderful it is to be alive.

Thank you for pointing out and calling them out on their cheap presentation. Plastic cap, standard bottle , and normal atomizer with very little effort for that price is the reason I’m returning a 200ml bottle of Comète tomorrow, scent is ok but I don’t love it , very disappointed by presentation. LV, Creed, MFK, Xerjoff, PDM, Amouage they all do a better job with using more premium materials & presentations.

I did my dissertation on the French perfume industry. French perfumery in recent history was more subtle (this has not always been the case, heavy scent -civet- was used for masking as it was thought that water actually carried disease) because the social radius was much more intimate between individuals therefore your sillage had to be alluring and not overbearing in close proximity. Although this did a volte-face in the late 79’s /80’s with heavy hitters such as YSL Opium and Dior’s Poison The subconscious social distance we maintain is defined by our cultural mores. Americans generally have a much wider social circle, they speak more loudly and as a result American perfumes tended to be much stronger, more brash.
@RichardOliver3 ай бұрын
Do you mean the projection rather than the sillage?
@CBEEBLE3 ай бұрын

I find Boy dull. Typically French in its highly finessed and supremely sophisticated style but too dainty, soft and not loud enough for me. I wouldnt pay £200 for 75ml of this, then again, there are not many from CHANEL Les Exclusif stuff I would.

I enjoy the videos. 1 thing: you use the word “eloquent” many times in describing a scent, but eloquence refers to someone’s command and skillful use of the spoken word. A scent cannot be eloquent.
@SWTmel3 ай бұрын
Perhaps "elegant"?
@golfbuddy19693 ай бұрын
@@SWTmel it can be elegant, for sure. It cannot be eloquent.
@michaelm13263 ай бұрын
Notice how he uses elegant correctly when describing the appearance of a person. He clearly knows what it means and yet chooses to use the word eloquent when referring to perfume; something he is very clearly qualified to speak on.
@golfbuddy19693 ай бұрын
@@michaelm1326 what? His understanding of fragrances and his understanding of language, words and proper grammar for that matter, have nothing to do with one another. I am simply saying that he is continually misusing a word, and if he truly wants to improve, and get better, he won’t continue to misuse it. I do find it ironic that he is misusing the word eloquent, which is the very opposite of eloquence,
@Nextgenerative133 ай бұрын
I am not sure he is expecting a literal translation, if the “scent could talk” it would be “eloquent”, what sort of scent would that be? For me it draws quite an interesting picture, but I can see for others maybe it just annoys…
@PlugInKali3 ай бұрын
Again, eloquent and elegant don't mean the same thing. Eloquent means well spoken. Elegant means refined. A fragrance cannot be eloquent. Also, judging by the way you're using the word, you clearly meant elegant.
@silver0magic3 ай бұрын
@@PlugInKali not sure if you’re aware but Aaron has mentioned multiple times that he is dyslexic and struggles with pronunciation and mixes words up. So yeah you’re right but now you know why
@isobel643 ай бұрын
you know what he meant so what is the point of this nitpicking? such odd behavior.
@teok88553 ай бұрын
I can imagine eloquent for a fragrance would mean it knows what it smells like and has a distinct and firm identity in it. But thats just the way I interpret that.
