Yes, there was a cake made especially for Christian Dior in the Parisian restaurant Maxim's. It was his favourite dessert and the fragrance is an hommage to it :)

In case Demachy didn't know, his Feve Delicieuse actually smeels like Dutch Mokkatart. Poor guy, he's amazing with oriental and gourmand. But forced to create light floral scents.

I love the direction that Dior has gone in.. dumped all the brash and garish bottles and gone more classic, less is more, Dior doesn't need to be in your face,.pure class x

I don't think it's how it is. Dior has been using this bottle design since 2004 for their La Collection Privée( which now is called Maison Christian Dior Collection). In the meantime, the general 'signature line' of fragrances have various fashion bottles. We recently started seeing the Maison Christian Dior Collection under the spotlight more often.

Such a tease. Interested in what you'll do to make a vanilla fragrance evolve. After all, the great big thing about vanilla is that it stays vanilla - that is does everything but evolve. So there is some contradiction there that can be played around with. Looking forward to it.

You are definitely qualified to speak on a well formulated gourmand being your fragrance Forbidden beat all of my other gourmands... and I have some of the best. This sounds totally up my alley being a gourmand with orange and rum. When will you have a vanilla? I'll be getting a decant as soon as it hits Maxaroma! P.S. Thank you for making 10ml of everything. It's a nice way to try a fragrance without risking a fake decant.

It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on Material by Amouage as it uses bourbon vanilla absolute. It is the best vanilla fragrance I have come across thus far. It could also offer some inspiration as you work on your own vanilla fragrance; which I am excited to try when it is finally released.

I’m not the best at this am I….lol I get embarrassed talking about my work. It was a Eureka moment actually. I wanted beautiful, ethereal, dark and massive amounts of silage. I was working with sweetening patchouli naturally. When I made it I wore it when I went to see my family. Went into a shop with my brother in law and I had people following me asking what it was. I thought ‘it’s perfect’. Unfortunately I am so shy that I said when asked what it was. I can’t remember and my brother in le goes. He makes it. Which had me turning bright red…..

@@AaronTerenceHughes I love your modesty but honestly, it’s like nothing I’ve ever smelled before and I’ve smelled a TON of patch-based frags. I own 400+ bottles and ‘thought’ I had smelled every Patchouli out there until my friend turned me on to this one. This best way I can describe it, is ‘an affair in a bottle’. I’m married but I feel like I’m being naughty and looking for ‘attention’ when I wear it 😂. Never had a fragrance induce emotions like this one.

Bro. This scent is the epitome of class and upper echelon. I have an oil of this scent. And it is a 12 out of ten. You might want to check your bottle and or source/quality for authenticity. This blows any vanilla fragrance to date out of the water. But just my humble opinion. And you don’t know me. Yet 🍰❤️💯💥

Could you do a review of Aura by Mugler? I find this one of the strangest aroma combinations, very green vegetal notes upfront but then after an hour on the skin it completely changes!

I love your reviews and bought some ATH fragrance samples. I think your "Forbidden" is a masterpiece and I am totally not a gourmand person. This cake (+tea - this is what I smell) note is brilliant. So British? :) Anyway, my husband loves "Notorious", I will be coming for more, definitely "Jasmine Narcotique" and have "Boss B***" in my plans as well.

Calone with black agar green apple and ambroxan, iso e super with inscense and ethyl matol then vanilla. Trust me it works out. Oh and throw some exaltolide and iso e super in too.

I don’t have any perfume or compounds at home. But when miss verity was a puppy I was making something at home as I didn’t want to leave a puppy at hole on her own and it made her very sleepy. But I think they adapt actually.
