GREAT VIDEO! Thanks for sharing! Now if only I could do something like that! I have great, GREAT neighbors next door and they have an above ground pool with a deck that happens to be smack dab up against my fence so YUP! You guessed it! No privacy in the Summer AT ALL! They have a direct view right into my back yard. I was looking to have an Pergola/Arbor built, something very simular to the one you've so beautifully built for your swing (which I never thought of doing, a swing that is) and I wanted to make a trellis by placing Lattice just on the upper 3rd of it and maybe train some flowering climbing plants of some sort to block the view from above. I've been looking on the www for someone to make and install it for me and my mom but they are way to expensive and many of them are just as you said, flimsy and not worth the money they want even if I had it to spend! I don't know, maybe I'll try making one myself. I haven't any carpentry skills (or electric saws and such so I guess I'll have to rent those) and my messuring sucks balls too so...I don't know. Wish me luck and thanks again for the video! It was quite helpful!

I know your video is a couple years old but was wondering approximately how much did the Pergola cost you, not counting your swing. This was a great video probably something that I will want to do.
@DarkStoneCastle5 жыл бұрын
I'd say around $500, not including tools or swing itself.

Started to dig the holes today, what kind of pressure treated wood did you use for the posts and main boards? Thank you and awesome video.
@DarkStoneCastle4 жыл бұрын
Just whatever they had at Lowes. Just your standard pressure treatment.

This is great. What was the original length of the 6X6? and how tall is the swing hook from ground? Thanks!
@DarkStoneCastle8 жыл бұрын
+Yashesvi Sharma The 6x6's were originally 12 ft in length. Top of swing hook (where it meets the wood) to ground is 7ft 3in.

Great work. Pls what is the distance between the inside edge of the two posts? And also, did you use 2x12x12 or 2x6x10 boards? I will appreciate your response. Thanks. I am looking to build one myself
@DarkStoneCastle7 жыл бұрын
Distance between the inside edges of posts is 6ft 11in. I think I had planned for it to be 7ft but was an inch off. Used 2x10x12 boards.
