Drake Maye should be getting a commission on this topic . I wonder how much $ has been made off him.

I would have Maye play the last couple drives of every game. He never starts so you dont feel like you have to pull him back if it gets rough and you get experience at the same time.

The O line has a talent problem and an assignment problem . They are fooled on different defensive rush schemes. That's a coaching or learning problem.
@michaelmonette7256Ай бұрын
Starting Brissett over Maye is keeping the future of this franchise in neutral at best. Maye is learning nothing on the sidelines. He isn't standing by AVP, he doesn't have a clipboard and he isn't listening though a helmet for play calling either. He's basically standing by himself with his hands on his collar. If we had a good NFL starting QB ahead of him then I understand sitting him. Let the kid get some experience of the NFL speed and let him make the mistakes this season. It's such a waste of a year watching Brissett throw for 100 yards every game.

Brissett has been getting bullied they’re scared Drake will get hurt and it will all be a waste anyway. At least with being in the room it’s gotta help Drake in some way. Tho I am also ready for him to get his shot. The more he warmed up the better he looked and then boom the game ended.

if the kid is on the sidelines all game not bothering to try to learn anything, then he's already a bust

@@papifuego5273 Well I was responding to OP. This notion that Maye has to play to improve at all is asinine. 'Neutral' may be the best possible outcome for the team right now, as sad as that sounds. I just cannot see how his development is helped positively if thrown out there behind what is basically a non-functional OL. Will he develop? You betcha. He'll develop terrible, possibly long-term habits like expecting immediate pressure, rushing through his reads, making poor decisions, trying to force the ball, etc etc etc. Right now we know the team isn't ready to support such an important player back there. We don't even know if Maye himself is ready mentally. Rushing him out there because we hate this product would be one of the most colossally stupid ideas I can even fathom. Dumber even than coming into this season with no starting caliber tackles.

I don’t understand why if you picked a qb so high if you say he’s not ready for the nfl?? What why make such a pick on that than just crazy either play him or you shouldn’t pick another position !!

this shit is the only thing pats fans have left to hope for, they're gonna milk it all season. and when he finally does start, guaranteed he throws like 40 times for 100 yds and 5 ints in a 40-0 blowout against a trash team like the jags, and everyone is gonna say he was actually really good and he showed flashes and it was all the fault of the OL and WRs and belichick somehow

Alex Van Pelt knows his whole career is in Drake Maye’s hands. If he plays too early and does not fair well then AVP is the fall guy not Mayo and he’s out at the end of the season. (Enter Brian Dabol). Alex will likely never get another coordinator position and you know Mayo is going to get at least 2 maybe 3 years. The later Alex waits to play Maye the better chances he has and the smaller the sample size. Now if he can’t tailor the offense to Mayes strengths then he should be out. Mayo knows he’s protected and wants to win now and AVP may be trying to save himself and at the same time do right by Maye.

Signals are pointing that they need a new GM head coach and offensive coordinator
@2PlateJakeАй бұрын
Maye isn’t Mac jones, so sick of people saying they don’t want him to get hit and become the next Mac jones. Van pelt is afraid to play maye for his own job security. Not because they are worried about the 6’4 220 getting hit to hard
@RJ-rp5otАй бұрын
Maye should sit: with this O line, it’s too risky to play this franchise asset.

If our line at some point can pass protect, I 100% would think Drake should play! But this current group will absolutely destroy a young QB! Our WR's are all a group of solid #3's. My concern is the front office. We've been in rebuild for about 5 drafts and Bill and this current front office produced the OL that we currently have. Dante was a huge lose, "smart tough and athletic enough", can any of these scouts and front office types evaluate OL talent. We have an OL full of road grader types trying to run an offense that is designed for smaller quicker OL. I'm in no way a coach, but we don't have the guys to execute the scheme. You drafted Cole Strange to run those stretch plays and then changed your mind and asked him to be a road grader and he got hurt. 5 drafts with this front office and they keep drafting different types of OL for two different philosophies? Do you want a 330lb sloth or a 295lb cat make up your mind!

I could understand entertaining the idea of starting Maye if we had a good offensive coordinator like Mac Jones had when McDaniels was here. Alex Van Pelt is incompetent and will ruin Drake.

Listen this oline is not ready for maye. Do u see the punishment Jacoby takes. Don't put maye through that. We really need a left tackle before we turn this kid into Mac Jones 2.0 The offence can't even run the ball consistently. This team isn't ready yet for maye with these wide receivers either. There just isn't enough there for maye to do much with. Douglas is a number 3 or 4 on most teams and he is the best wr the pats have. Jacoby isn't turning the ball over and making bad passes. It's the offence around him that's not giving brissett anything to work with. There isn't alot of seperation on alot of plays with the wide receivers and the tight ends are just not productive or consistent or are all injury prone. Henry shows up one week then the next game I don't think he even had 3 catches. 🤷 Then the RBS. One week they give u 200 yards then the next week the run game don't even show up.
@polandfresh101Ай бұрын
The receivers are getting open. Jacoby is just a very bad qb. He takes too much time to throw, he’s slow, and inaccurate too often. Granted the o-line isn’t good, but plenty of QBs have to make due with a mediocre line in front of them. Burrow has had to just about his entire career so far.

As a jet fan... i can say by looking at the game last week.. Please please please patriots front office. Dont ruin this kid... let him learn.. give him time. sit him. Believe me... its the right thing to do...
@AbelOstremАй бұрын
Not disagreeing, just wondering why you personally believe they should do that?
@jmart4197Ай бұрын
@@AbelOstrem im a firm believer in let the kid sit a year and let him learn the offense. I feel like most of these kids are just throw in and not having the opportunity to learn the offense and grow with the offense. Plus it gives you some time to get an o lineman in the draft to help him next year. I never was on board with Sam Darnold or zach Wilson starting from day one because of the coaching.. we had adam gase for darnold which turned out to be a terrible idea... and Wilson and the OC we had at the time were both rookies.. and it just didn't work.. with your situation now.. new coach and new OC.. You can't really gamble this kids career like that. Especially with all of your staff being so new. I think drake maye can be a solid QB but idk if I would start him day for the reasons I mentioned. Just let him sit and let him learn. I think he will benefit more that way

Pats could pull off an upset and be 2-2 with a winnable game vs seahawks. Most people had em at 0-4 1-3 at best. Let jacoby play let maye learn
