Love the cover, I just have a question about the song though. I have heard this was about his sister dying...how? Until I heard about this I assumed it was a love song, ie yes...a song of grief but one disconnected from the idea of familial relationship. I guess it's this line, "My gut is telling me, oh, it's telling me why She'd rather see a man up than me under." I guess you could blame it on the author or the tempo for the wording, it just seems through the obstructive word 'a' than the singular word 'me' that causes this in my brain. Just wondering if I'm alone in this. The lyrics just don't seem to match up with this narrative to me, seems like another love story lost type of song....with tacked on meaning. Do not get me wrong, this song musically is amazing and I adore it all, just actually am lost how I feel about the lyrics, my g/f is a stickler for them. ( I enjoy music for the music, deeper meaning is awesome but unnecessary to me)

Yeah I know what you mean man! Spence is one of my favourite vocalists but I do sometimes struggle to understand the meaning behind his lyrics. I figured this song was about a love lost also, but maybe not. I definitely relate to your last sentence though, vocal melody/rhythm and the music itself is what speaks to me the most, but deeper meaning is definitely an added bonus!
