I returned to this song because just last Halloween I lost my mother to a long life of addiction battles and other things, I wish I could say it's gotten easy, but its very tricky to me rn. I've grown to be a musician myself, a percussionist and guitarist and she raised me on old school metal, Metallica, Pantera, mötley cru and so forth, and eventually when I grew up I showed her my stuff, wage war, periphery, for the likes of you and fit for a king and blah blah blah. Its hard to dk anything when anything reminds me of her, and its just been a constant mental struggle, I myself have struggled with suicidal thoughts and tendencies in the past but this song helps. I can't explain it but its like her message to me, her instructions to me in a way she'd know I'd listen. Telling me to carry on and smile through and come out on top in the end. It has been a very difficult journey and I want anyone reading this who feels down or has experienced similar situations, youre not alone, suffer with me and we all can smile on through this❤

Only periphery could have baphomet as an album cover, have this amazingly upbeat and inspirational song on it, and it not even be outta place 😂🔥❤️
@SaladDressing695 жыл бұрын
So, not many realize this, the Baphomet is technically a symbol of universal harmonics; balance of masculine and feminine within a balance of lightness and darkness coming out of occult traditions and symbolism. The harmony on this album between a creational harmony and a purposeful dissonance (destructive) tone and chugg section in order to better accommodate the gamut of experience and the collectivity of wholeness, overall. This can go as deep as you like ;)
@subsume79045 жыл бұрын
Spencer said in an interview the baphomet and misspelling of satan was intentional. The reason is because of how serious satanists take their religion and actually how ridiculous it all is, the theme is "Don't take things too seriously" and its an amazing message.
@subsume79045 жыл бұрын
It's the reason why this album came out the way it did, they took their time and just did what they did best and didn't strive to be too serious on it.

I shed a tear listening to this for the first time as recently I'm dealing with my dad's passing. We have some misunderstandings and now I can't even make amends. Sigh... Now I'm stuck on repeat with this song. That "I will be missing you..." part hits very hard. Thank you Periphery! (As always)

this song gives off metalcore vibes because the chorus, same with progressive metal vibes with the complex chords, the complex riffs, the song length, and the guitar cleans.

Jeremy Luke yo for real you think this song is happy? I ask this with all due respect but did you even listen to it? It’s about missing someone and smiling your way through it. It made me cry because I miss my girlfriend as I’m on tour. Legit curious as to how people can have such different reactions to music

Fandom Trash Kappa smiling through something does not mean you are happy, and does not even imply it. In fact you only need to smile through something because it’s hard on you.

Oof, I needed a good cry and this was the song to do it. I am not an overtly emotional person but this song is genuinely beautiful and I’m just so happy with how much Periphery has progressed sonically. They could play any genre (plus some djent) and do it justice.

Just in the last year and a half I’ve lost my father, mother (one month ago), aunt (just 6 days ago), one my best friends, a cousin, and one of my wife’s aunts. There’s something about this song that just speaks to us who live everyday with such painful grief. Until you’ve lost a member of your immediate family, it cannot be understood.
