Thanks for this. As a fellow guitarist I really enjoy a good instrumental, even more so when something like changing time signatures makes it more complex. The switching between 7/8 and 4/4 is awesome, especially on verse 2 and the bridge.

Great mix dude, but I can defiantly see you're favoring the guitar in this mix and the drums are no where to be found lol I'm a guitar player myself but I treat each instrument equally nothing is no more or no less and every instrument is audible cause I believe it's very important that each instrument has clarity and balance cause it all ads up in the final stage when it comes together. Also don't rush your work just to get it up on youtube, youtube is not going anywhere if it takes you five hours or a day to mix a song so be it cause you want your final product to the best it can be before you showcase it. :) just some friendly tips and keep up the good work.

Thanks man, no actual mixing work was done just mastering. It's funny that you say that tho because I was having a really hard time getting clarity with the drums. While referencing I noticed how awesome the drums sounded on the album. Really incredible, there was so much space, nothing was clashing with them. For the life of me I could not recreate that in my master. I almost thought of going in and re-mixing the drum track, but I didn't have the time for that. This song was a tough one for me.

I'm working on my own instrumental version using audacity. I use amplify to lower the volume of everything except for the drums, because if I amplify the drums too much it might clip. I started with -2.0 and adjusted it to my liking from there. I also added a mild reverb.
