@@sueghdsifbvjvn Don't get me wrong, he's a great player, but the effects he uses would cover up a LOT, to the point where you can't tell how clean his technique is. Yes, uneven notes will have different timbre, but compression *does* mask it quite a bit, and that high gain distortion masks it even more. You could hit his strings just about any way and itll sound the same. His setup doesn't leave much room for any "tone from the fingers".

Honestly it's players like him that inspire me to want to learn bass. It's so much more than just your typical boomer, "just support the guitar playet". It's it's own thing and I love it. I love seeing bass players utilize big beautiful chords and different techniques than just picking and actually using effects.

Not that that’s bad, but sometimes supporting the guitar player is what is best for the whole song. I know Nolly has done a awesome drum sample library recently but he should definitely look into translating this bass sound beyond hardware (like sampling drums) -maybe looking into Bass focused DAW plugins next, as he obviously has the ear for this market.
