This and Lune are both 135 BPM, so I put Lune's vocal stem over this and the result was actually unreal

I need to try that out later. (Won't upload it, though, since it's your idea!) Check this out, though, if you haven't already! kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXPXo6SjbKydldE

It was unreal in terms of what I actually had to do to it. Lune is for the majority of the song 7/4 so there were lots of measure length cuts to match the vocals with the 4/4 of Remain Indoors. Then I had to adjust the key to match the instrumentals and by the end of it I was exhausted lol.

If you liked the way it turned out, definitely upload it dude! I will gladly add it to one of my playlists so it gets a couple more views too, if you'd like. (Not that it'll boost it that much, though.) Considering it sounds like you put a good amount of work into it, I'd be pretty interested in hearing how it sounds too, actually!

Watch some interviews with Nolly.

What interview in particular? Or rather, how does Nolly answer this question?

kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3nOfq1_ma2Yldk Not really the best example to demonstrate my point, but early on Nolly comments that bass is essentially an integral part of Periphery's mix. (I've watched nearly every interview with the band available on KZbin from 2011-2016, so it's hard to pinpoint where Nolly explained how the bass is crucial in their mix.) Regardless, though, the bass is usually layered over top of, or just ever-so-slightly underneath, the guitar tracks. The mix/overall sound of the guitars and band overall sounds very different when the bass is toned down -- the bass is meant to be boom-y and powerful. The addition of vocals and mastering process just shifts the focus over a bit, and more or less lowers down the bass as well. I can tell you from working with the tracks for several weeks, however, that the guitar sounds a lot more distorted // grainy // 'empty', or even 'air-y' without a hint of bass. [This is the reason the "Full Guitar Tracks" all have a bit of bass in the mix. It's subtle, but definitely needed.] Periphery does have some great guitar tones, but nevertheless, bass is critical in this sort of music. Especially progressive metal / 'djent'.

just put the track in a daw and cut the bass in the mix, that way you cant get the feeling for the guitars, synths, etc. or you could disconnect the subwoofer
