A lot of people give Misha credit for Periphery's sound and rightfully so, but when it comes to guitar playing in general, Mark's right hand is ferocious and he's become my favorite guitarist in the band. All 3 of them are extremely talented though, obviously.

Mark your aplha/omega pickups are my favorite pups I've ever played. I was a long time emg guy but I've been converted. I put the alpha omega set in my cherished Ibanez sz guitar. I bought the guitar for $199 used and with the alpha omegas I find myself playing this more than my $1500 ibanez or my $1100 schecter. You're a genius in pickup voicings.

@KFieLdGaming10 жыл бұрын
Mark, I really don't know how to give you the kind of compliment you deserve for this guitar, so I'll just say that....if I had the opportunity to design a USA PRS top to bottom, bridge to nut, tone woods to pickups, this is EXACTLY how I'd design it. Even down to the quilted burst and the trans-black'ish color you utilized. I mean literally, if we were both in the same room at PRS and they told each of us "Ok, design your own guitar" I can almost guarantee they'd just be named "One" and "Two". Also, please get duncan to release the Alpha and Omega set. I currently use an EC-1000T/CTM with EMG 57/66 set but that guitar is dying for some passives, and I was leaning towards the gold covered Dimarzio TItans that Jake had made(They sound awesome I may add) but as far as metal tone, you have been my "it factor" since Haunted Shores with your tone. Your pick attack, your chord articulation, all of it. So, if they do release the Alpha and Omega set(Fallout 3 reference.......I mean....bible thumper reference obviously) I imagine they would sound KILLER in a full thickness les paul custom style EC-1000T with aall that mahogany and Ebony. Oh, and I hope Seymour releases them with nickel or gold covering options to match my guitar's gold hardware (It's the black beauty 1000T/CTM)). Sorry for the rant bro. But yea, that PRS isi on an entirely different planet and the ONLY thing I would change would be a different color, kind of like a satin trans-white quilted maple, with a powder blue burst along the edges. Hard to explain but I think most who are into high end guitars can picture the kind of finish I'd go for. The theme would be like looking into a blizzard/white out or a snow globe. And of course a paint matched head-stock and satin white neck, with MoP birds and I'd get them outlined in the same powder blue, if Paul could pull that off anyway.

PRS all the way. Currently VERy close to purchasing a 30th custom 24. I've always wanted a satin finish with a flame maple fretboard. Maybe PRsmwill start issuing satin finishes in the future. Not a fan of quilts but man you have wicked awesome tone.
@angrygoldfish9 жыл бұрын
The new model is further away from an actual Custom 24 than I thought it would be-which I might point out is not a negative at all. Very different pickups (as in a different brand, which PRS rarely do), 25.5" scale, string-thru body, 20" radius, huge frets, satin finish. It's basically only a Custom 24 by looks, woods (minus the fretboard) and neck profile (minus the radius). I think this is a gorgeous looking guitar for a very talented player in a hard-working band. I have had similar experiences as him when it comes to PRS. The first serious instrument I ever played was a PRS Santana model. To be this day I will not forget the feeling of how effortless it was to play, even as a novice. It would be comparable to going from a PS1 controller to a mouse and keyboard for the first time. Everything just felt buttery smooth. I've never found that with any 'affordable' instruments. It's more than possible, but then there would be no market for €3000 guitars. xD

MιleZεro lol $3700 , I could never understand why someone would want a signature for the market that is that expensive...I mean most of the die hard fans are probably younger and the want for their favorite guitar player's guitar is greater...It would be smarter if he made a model just like Mikael Akerfeldt that was more around the $750 dollar range, not that he has to play the cheaper model all the time but it would be better to have a cheaper model so that his fans can more easily save up money and buy it, I mean a PRS is good quality even the lower end stuff so I think alot of people will be happy with a cheaper model for the hobbyist
@IcarusNadir10 жыл бұрын
D.L. Saro Petrucci and Musicman did it the smart way, they have guitars all the way up to 3900 and all the way down to 500, in euro's that is.

***** If someone would give me the guitar I would certainly know how to use this xd it looks beautiful,has almost all the specs I look for in a guitar. BUT the price is literaly 1.5 years of university tuition fee (excluding books lmfao). I would sooner buy a less expensive guitar with also good specs, because Ive seen alot of guitars within the 600-1000 euro range that are way cheaper and exactly what I would want. Still I am happy that Mark has his perfect guitar and enough people have the chance to buy his dream guitar. the Quality must be Godlike

Funny Story. 2 years ago I worked for a certain big name guitar store. For some reason we couldnt move any of the high-end PRS guitars so they decided to ship them all off to another store in a different region. While in the process of moving them out we had a special session with Mark Holcomb and we had about 8 high-end Ernie Ball MusicMan guitars come with him because that's what he wanted. Afterwards our manager convinced the big wigs to keep the high end Ernie Balls in the store. Now Mark Holcomb is playing his own signature PRS guitar. LOL. Full circle
