As a periphery fan from the early 2010s, I am disappointed in the release. I just can't get down with the taylor swift levels of pop. Seems many are loving it, all the comments say it's 10/10. But based on the views compared to other releases I'd say there's plenty others who also aren't into it.

I think that is fine. I've been there since the Bulb demos and i don't absolutely LOVE every song, but i respect that they create what THEY want and don't really care about doing fan-service.

periphery has an incredible amount of poppy stuff in their discography. Nothing really new here but I get where you are coming from. I am much more of a fan of the heavier stuff but god damn anything this band does I love and can get down with. This isn't my favorite album but Atropos and Dracul gras are contenders for my top 5 periphery songs.

P5 is a 1/10 and the 1 is because of the ending of Wax Wings is amazing, but that's it. This is by far the weakest album they've ever done.

I've loved a lot of Periphery stuff in the past but this is the worst mess of songwriting I've heard from them, at least their previous poppy stuff was actually somewhat coherent sounding. I wasn't expecting them to pull out anything near the level of P4 but I didn't expect this much of a dropoff.
