Okay I thought I was the only one who associated periphery/bulb with final fantasy mostly because I listen to is while playing FF XV as apposed to Shimomura's subpar ost (subpar game BTW but that's besides the point) Then I found I out that Uematsu was one of their many influences and it all made sense. I consider "Omega" to be Noctis' unofficial theme.

Periphery is fully capable of being an instrumental band, but that's not the sound they wanted. Sure, Misha and Nolly both wrote instrumental parts for this EP, but this was just a fun project. Periphery has an amazing vocalist in Spencer. I think he really adds something to this band.

I feel like it would be awesome if every night at a show, the band would play a regular set, because they said they probably won't play too much of this material live. BUT, midway through the set they would ask the crowd what song from Clear they wanted to hear the most. And whoever has the loudest vote get their song played... Either that or just play one of the songs at random as an encore lol

People need not to think so much about music. The thing i found about music is it always grows on you. If you don't like it now give a couple more listens and you may love it. Don't forget this is Periphery they are essentially "prog" so they are bound to change a little bit from album to album. There is so many riffs in their songs you have to love at least one, so think of the song as a build up to that awesome chunky chunka.

@Kaiveran
@Kaiveran 10 жыл бұрын
Even though it kinda is, with the time signature trickery and entire section in quintuple time which is really hard for most people to play. I think what is being reached for here is something that the great Jojo Mayer has said: that complexity of the music is not a barrier to engaging with a large audience. What IS a barrier is when you "don't balance a cerebral statement with an emotional one". When there's no connection between _playing_ and _feeling_. There are lots of bands that don't make that connection. Periphery does, and that's why they're blowing up.
@ihuntfortheleak1334
@ihuntfortheleak1334 9 жыл бұрын
***** So does ANYTHING Hannes Grossmann touches compositionally, so I'd recommend you checkj him on the "connection between playing and feeling." The most complicated thing about Misha's and somed of MArk's music is the chord/melody/rhythm choice which is what makes me looooove it

It's great to see a band like periphery that has come so far musically to do a project like this. Definitely not a fan of every piece of music i've heard on the CLEAR album, but i think all musicians at least, like myself, can listen with an open and objective mind. ZERO is by far my favorite track but i can admit that is mainly because i've followed and downloaded misha's music since he was just BULB...which by the way if any of you haven't listened to that eargasm of yumm, i strongly suggest you check it out....anyway! all in all, kudos to these great dudes!
