Thank you for showing us the history of the electric fan, combining photo images with attractive ladies and the evolution of common household fan. There are dozens of tools and appliances that we use daily and do not give it a passing thought, they all have an interesting history.

We have westinghouse electric fan. We still using it until now.

Westinghouse should’ve stuck to fans. When this film was made in the 50s Westinghouse’s underperforming jet engines were ruining a generation of US naval aircraft like the F7U, F3H, and F4D.

In their defense, it was pretty hard to find a good jet engine made in the same era. The USAF's F-80s constantly had burned out engines. They were underpowered and unreliable for years.

Dr. Shuyler Wheeler invented the electric fan in 1882. Wheeler placed a two blade propeller on the shaft of an electric motor to create the fan. In 1904 he was awarded the John Scott Medal for his invention by the Franklin Institute. Not WESTINGHOUSE.
