So there I am, enjoying a glass of The Famous Grouse, when this film is offered to me as an option about 17 minutes after being uploaded. I watch the entire thing. The man with the astonishing ‘70s hair and folksy attitude gently rambles about how Jack Daniels is an anathema in this modern age, but gosh darn sure is good stuff. And I finish my glass of Scotch and go out to the corner store to buy a bottle of Jack Daniels which, despite being located about 4,218 miles from Lynchburg, absolutely has it in stock. And so I write this review while enjoying a glass of Jack Daniels. And I can assure you, it is indeed worth the price charged. Behold the power of advertising!!

That is so true. I don't drink anymore but I always kept a bottle of Jack around to compliment the beers. You could lean into Jack pretty good and it always burned clean and you felt ok the next day. Never a swilly, swirling buzz, never harsh on the insides.

This is really interesting because as Kids we were distilling Slivovitz from grandma's Zwetschgen wine by way of a children's chemistry set. The only problem was the rubber taste resulting from the rubber used to connect to boiling vessel to the actual distilling tubes. Otherwise, the outcome was pretty good high octane booze. 😄 Ps.: Jack Daniels and Mr. Ford were both wrong. Black is not a color but a contrast that is needed to describe what is good and what white.

If this presentation was reproduced in today’s time there’d be fancy graphics, music, shot angle changes every 5 seconds. Just like the never changing Jack Daniels brand, this presentation can not be beat, or reproduced.

Paternal Welsh roots, great-grandfather, a Daniel, from West Wales, UK. Apparently, distilling ran through their family for many generations before. There is a family recipe in a book for distilled liquor of his grandmother many times, from the early-mid 18th century in West Wales.

Square bottles, they thought of everything, less wasted space in packing into wood crates to transport to market.

Sadly they have repeatedly lowered the proof of JD over the years. It is now 40% alcohol, any lower and they could not legally call it whiskey. George Dickel is the best Tennessee whisky in my opinion. It is cheaper and it is also charcoal mellowed, drop by drop.
