Grace Galbavy and her Perkiomen Valley teammates have won Pioneer Athletic Conference and District 1 championships. What would it mean to bring home a state title? "More than anything, we've never done it before," Galbavy told Paul Roberts of SV Sports. The Vikings went (29-2) a season ago and captured their second straight District 1-6A crown. They outlasted rival Spring-Ford 62-55 in overtime in the final. Perkiomen Valley took all four matchups with the Rams last year including a 60-51 victory in the PAC championship. "I don't think it will ever die. I'm looking forward to it. I think it will be just as fun this year," said Galbavy about the rivalry. Spring-Ford finished (27-7) during the 2023-24 campaign. The Rams were the state runner-up in Class 6A. Meanwhile, the Vikings fell to Cardinal O'Hara 49-35 in the PIAA-6A quarterfinals. They're focused on making a deeper postseason run this winter. "I can't wait. It's gonna be, hopefully, the best season yet. We're looking for the state championship," replied Galbavy. Perkiomen Valley returns all five starters including 6'3 senior Quinn Boettinger. The third team All-State selection is committed to Navy. Point guard Bella Bacani is going to Division II Jefferson University. She averaged 10 points per game last season. Lena Stein, a 5'10 defensive stopper, will continue her career at West Chester. Galbavy chose Wake Forest over Seton Hall. "I think their play style really fits me and how I prefer to play...I do like to shoot 3s and I like the way that they play in transition. It reminds me a lot of playing AAU basketball," she explained. Galbavy averaged 16 ppg. last year and has more than 1,200 points in her career. The versatile 6'1 guard was a second team All-State pick as a junior. She's hoping to go out with a PIAA gold medal around her neck.
