Permaculture | Making and Using an 'A-Frame'

Mam, do the land need to be flattened or leveled before marking the contour lines using A-frame? I just wander that the rough surface may cause errors. Also, do the swales must exactly follow the contour lines? Please guide mam.

Not really. If the land is a bit bumpy, you can intuitively find the correct contour to adjust for the bumpiness.

@@gauravbhai7798 you can easily google that. All plants with pods like peas, arhar, urad, moong, masoor etc are nitrogen fixing. Similarly trees with pods are nitrogen fixing too - like shisham, siris, moringa etc.. For wind breaks, you need trees which sway in the wind and break the air flow, but do not break themselves. We use Casuarina and Silver Oaks. You can research what works for you in your area.
