Having Cavitation Issues on your Waverunner? Slow Acceleration? Impeller Problem. Here is a Complete video of me installing a Stainless Solas Concord Impeller on a 2017-21 Yamaha Ex Sport. This applies to all Waverunners! Bent Impeller.

I figured that impeller had to have damage when I saw your other video with the huge rocks you removed. Glad you got it fixed

I dont belive the rocks from when I first bought the ski were the culprit I bought the ski with around 50 hours when I found the rocks the impeller looked to be in good condition still. I replaced the impeller at 100 hours.

Just replaced it on my 2007 VX110. If you every pull tube/wakeboard/etc, there is a HUGE difference in pulling power. Can't believe how much more torque it has. actually grips the water...pulls up 250 lb wakeboarder effortlessly now. This is actually really easy if you have a benchmounted vise.

@@DrDemp I was very concerned about not being able to get my pump separated from the wear ring because of the adhesive being almost 20 years old. So glad it was easy to remove. I did 2 pumps in about 5 hours. First one took 3 hours the second took about 45 minutes, as is always the case....

Just a thought….you suggest not using a steel scraper on the aluminium alloy casing….which is good advice…..does that not apply to the (steel) wire wheel? I would suggest you use a brass wire wheel to limit any sealing surface damage 👍

Steel vs. aluminum, in general, is usually a bad combination. However, what usually causes a leak in an aluminum sealing surface when mated when another aluminum surface is a gouged for example using a steel scraper, it creates a groove or Channel in the aluminum surface that could possibly leak easily. Using a wire brush wheel that's spinning is not necessary going to create that deep gouge straight across the same as a steel Scraper could create. But yes, you are correct in short, Brass would be better or even a composite hard plastic, but I hope my explanation makes it a little more clear.

The reverse gate linkage with the loctite bolt is a quick connect. Just push back on the outer spring loaded collar.

Awesome video and well explained, I have a 2019 FX Cruiser HO and I don’t have cavitation issues but would I still get better acceleration performance by installing this Solas impeller?

If there is 0 problems don't replace something that isn't broken unless you want a tiny bit of performance you will feel. Is it better than stock out of the box, yes. But is there a huge difference? No It may get you some more pulling power but the people that will see the biggest diffrence is the people with a chewed up impeller with already degraded performance.

Do they all cavitation from start? After riding the rxpx 300. My brand new gp1800r svho has some nasty cavitation if you start from a stand still.

From a dead stop yes all yamahas I've rode cavitation from a WOT pull sitting on the seat. Unless you lean over handle bars and start with trim all the way down and trim up on accell. This reduces cavitation to a minimum.

@@DrDemp I noticed the spacing from impeler to the sidewall is 2 times bigger than the seadoo as well.

I put a new solas impellar, new housing with custom sleeve for the solas impellar. 1/18 pitch on the yamaha 1200 SUV and it is cavitating still. I put an upgraded intake to help the other side pressure. I can get less cavitating if I divert the jet by pushing down the trim. What the heck. New seal gaskets, no obstructions. Also maxing at 6000 RPM... how do I get rid of that?

cavitation is just a natural problem of all jetskis but i think its more problematic in yamaha's since they rev pretty fast on high model !

Have you had any problems going full throttle and hitting the rev limiter with that impeller?

so cavitation is a difference in pressure from each side of the jet pump. I think it helped to have an upgraded intake crate on my ski. It made a difference for sure. New seals n case any leaks in gaskets. And of course fresh wear ring. Those are the main issues . I still get some on my Yamaha but I see others saying what I found... I have to trip down and lean forward an I can take off.

Between 7250 and 7300 on glass. Stock ski.

Although most Seadoo's have a plastic wear ring that must be serviced frequently. Yamaha is stainless. All brands have pros and cons. Thanks for supporting my channel!

@@DrDemp You can replace a Seadoo with stainless, but that just means when you suck up a rock, your blade will get destroyed, that's why Seadoo uses plastic from factory. I'd never put a stainless in my GTX, plastic ones only cost about $35 , and it saves the impeller.
