Great tutorial man. Any idea where you can get the rubber edge trim around the headlights? Mine are completely dry rotted and are peeling.
@jaelnava_2 жыл бұрын
no idea! but im gonna figure it out and report back haha, I have another set of lights that need that exact service haha

How much time did it take you and did you sand with just sandpaper and water or water and soap ? Great vid going to be doing this soon
@jaelnava_3 жыл бұрын
thank you king! just water! and it just depends on your skill and level of OCD I guess, each sanding step is 5-10 min I think

Which sand paper grits did you use for the whole project?
@jaelnava_3 жыл бұрын
it's in the video if you stay for the whole thing! tried to keep it short as possible but I'll list the grits in the description!

1 year + 1 month follow up on this? How have they held up? I've been told my headlights are trash and I should repair them.

This is awesome man!! new subscribers here. I tried like this but when the clear coat is sprayed on the headlights, the clear coat doesn't seem to stick to the surface, like cracks, I tried several times but it's always like that. any suggestions for this problem? Thank you in advance.
@jaelnava_3 жыл бұрын
I have 3 guesses: 1) maybe you didn't sand the headlight lens well enough for the clear coat to stick? 2) maybe you shot clear coat outside of the appropriate temperature? 3) maybe you didn't shake the can enough for the contents to stick! you gotta really shake that bad boy... hope this helps!

Done same job literally 2 hrs ago except I didn't clear coat, I only used a sealant liquid
@jaelnava_3 жыл бұрын
nice! the clear coat in theory should be a little more durable than any sealant but time will tell! the biggest pain is drying time + being impatient but a straight forward job once you have the little things figured out

thb I was hoping this wouldn't work as well as it did haha I wanted to buy new ones but they literally look almost new after the restoration
@politanos2k3 жыл бұрын
@@jaelnava_ Yeaa they turned out good 👌🏻 i don't want to buy new ones since oem ones are 800 for the pair new lol my black plastic on the headlight is rotten and it just keeps falling off. Really kills the front end of the car

Do you have to wait 5 days after the clear coat spray ? Lol
