Gadiel and Julissa, Thank you! I am a mixed girl who grew up in a tiny place where I was literally the only "black" person in town. Everyone was either Spaniard or Native American and I found it hard to find my place. Even though I was being raised by my Spanish grandmother who spoke to us in Spanish, I was ostracized from that community because of my skin color. I had never met afro-latinos until I moved away in high school and watching you now, I feel validated. You have inspired me to improve my Spanish so I can commune with other cultures who are more accepting of darker skin and African heritage. I know I'm Spanish and African-American but y'all make me want to be adopted by the DR haha. Again, thank you. Representation is everything. Affectionately, Tamara (or Tamarinda as my G-Ma called me haha)
