Perry Kramer always had time for TV interviews. He had ~20 minutes to talk & yak with me about stuff ,autograph a BMX Action Magazine for me (the one with the PK Ripper Test in it) & we talked logistics as to how he could get some Billabong or Quicksilver board shorts , seems that Perry was staying waaayyy out in the Western Suburbs near Ayers Rock & he needed to cover a LOT of ground to get to Parramatta or any one of Sydney's beach side suburbs as that was the only place you could get them back in the early days of surf apparel here. He knew what he wanted , just not how to get it , seems that The US made OP Board shorts & surfware we saw advertised on the back covers of US magazines sucked as much as their Plastic Target Glossy Photo Ads did...I remember seeing him in some US BMX mags jumping BMX bikes of home roofs into pools & river jumping much later that year & he was wearing some bright coloured Quicksilver board shorts in the photo's , I'm glad he found a few sets. He also the time to put on a rider training session one Saturday morning at Metro West BMX track , I was stuck working in the bike shop , but my younger brother went along with Andy Raymond + a dozen or so promising or needy 10 to 12 year olds. These fortunate kids all got "schooled" by PK on how to ride , race smoothly & all the other tips & tricks a seasoned Pro Rider could give. It was extremely cool that Perry made the time to share info & stories with me , a complete stranger in the pit's on a race day. I couldn't think of a better qualified intelligent educator you could have had to help you hone your BMX racing skills with , I really regret that I wasn't able to go along as well. Perry Kramer ROX !!!
