There was also the previous inning, when Josh Hader was called out of the bullpen and proceeds to get an automatic ball due to a pitch clock violation. After a crew chief review that took 5 minutes, Hader, who's arm was now iced to the delay, threw a wild pitch that allowed the Padres to tie the game.

@@MBLA859 cool, and hockey is the exact opposite. Players argue with officials all the time, yet players cannot be ejected for arguing a call. The only way you can get ejected in a hockey game is by doing something dangerous. Sucker punches, high cross checks, elbows, knee-on-knee hits, slewfoots, headshots, charging, boarding, some slashes, spearing, interference, hell someone got ejected for getting in a fight while there was tape on their hands. Players can get penalties for disrespecting the official, but it's a 10-minute penalty that doesn't result in an ejection or powerplay. And generally that only happens if the player says something really egregious, because again arguing happens all the damn time.

The umps since 2020 have been really really stoked up for betting since anyone can bet now and from anywhere. There is always something to gain outside of just watching the game purely for the professionalism that was something of the past. The players taking "roids" was another kind of "change" that was on the player. Now we see it from all levels. I watch a little now. But don't bet or play fantasy sports. @@blackmamba1261 It might be feasible, because then maybe umpires would decide to not suck. Problem solved.
@blackmamba1261Ай бұрын
@@ronm3245 Most umpires are pretty good, just the bad ones attract a lot of attention and media. And that’s the problem with the backup umpire system. Most games, umpires aren’t bad enough to the point of getting thrown out. And MLB will have to find these umpires from somewhere. Guess where they’ll get it from? Most likely AAA, where the umpires aren’t good enough to be MLB. This is why it’s not feasible, it’s not “problem solved” when you’re just sweeping the logistics under the rug and pretending this is a solution. It’s also why suspensions are probably a better bet, having 1-2 AAA umpire for 1-3 games is likely better than having a constant 15-20 AAA umpires backfilled

Since not reviewed, it is assumed that replay clearly show the calls as wrong. Replay does not prove either call wrong. HBP could have been reviewed, but wasn’t. Foul ball off Altuve’s foot cannot be reviewed by rule. Altuve’s actions are a required ejection-not about umpire’s attitude at all. Also, there is nothing to show when the ball (might have) barely touched the toe of your shoe. I am also entertained by comments about roboump. Robo ump is only being considered for ball-strike challenge. No chance it calls HBP and foul balls. So that point is moot in this thread.
