Through these sermons, I realise that sins are the same yesterday and today. Drugs, alcohol, affairs, luxury, war,... And also, the Words of God are the same yesterday and today! Glory to the Lord! Thanks to all great men and women of God like Spurgeon, king David, King Salomon, Peter, Paul, Moses, John , those who put these sermons online... who bring us to Jesus Christ. Thank tou Lord! Thank you Jesus! Thank you Father God!

Charles Spurgeon sermons are very much needed in a world where so much of the gospel of Jesus Christ has been forgotten or else watered down.

Life is a race that you either learn to persevere through God's word or you take the worldly route. It isn't easy, but I do prefer God's word.

Wow! He's talking about the love of many growing cold and the church getting too liberal back then. I'd love to hear what he would have to say about how it is now.

Sadly if you read about his death he was rejected by the growing liberal movement in the church and feared the worst for the future of it. Apparently his concern was not ill placed.

Blessed day to All listeners of the Gospel; and thank you to the Reader of Pastor Spurgeon's sermon. Your deliverance, manner and tone of voice brings the "ambience" of the Era and possible style of teaching in 1800s which makes me appreciate more the essence and message of Pastor Spurgeon's teachings. GOD bless you more!

Some notable quotes from this sermon: "The true badge of the Christian is perseverance. Perseverance is therefore the target of all of our spiritual enemies." "Only by persevering in the faith can they prove they are believers. For only by their perseverance can the promise be fullfilled." "Without perseverance they cannot be saved. And if they are truly saved, then they will persevere through divine grace." "Like the needle of a compass, if I can see a person, despite their weaknesses, sincerely and constantly aims at holiness, then I can conclude with almost certainty that they are a child of God." (Paraphrased) "Although works do not justify a person before God, they do justify a person's confession before his peers." "You cannot, by your words, convince me you are a Christian...but your actions will, unless you are an unmitigated hypocrite, speak the truth." The devil will try to prevent our perseverance in suffering. (Paraphrased) "He who does not continue until he reaches the goal cannot be considered a Christian at all." (Paraphrased) "Perseverance should be the great concern of every Christian."

Dear brothers and sisters, what a treasure our Lord has blessed us with, and also the debt we owe to those before us that have served God in preserving and sharing these inspiring jewels with us today. May I encourage everyone to read and re-read another treasure that inspired our brother Charles Spurgeon. That book is titled Pilgrim's Progress by another of God's servants, John Bunyan. May our Lord preserve and uphold you as you shine for Him.
