That bloody Steve and Alex what a pair of flakes 😬😆. Apologies for the last minute postponement mate you know better than anybody when your day gets away from you. Lovely lintels 😆 it’s on them today , inside and only 4x3 conc though . 👌🏼. The job is in a lovely big house and upstairs so I managed 3.3 miles and climbed 16 stories altogether, not bad for a cripple , oh stuck my thumb in my sawzall to, friggin gloves saved me a trip to A&E . Apart from that had a belter of a day …. Come home Alex 🥺🥵🤣🧱👍🏼

Hey Izzy and Drew! I don't know how I found your channel but I'm loving it. My Dad was a bricky. He left school at 15 and was an apprentice... Worked in the trade til he died just under two years ago at 60 (fuck cancer!) But Ive loved watching your channel because I can see my Dad's perfectionist mentality, and I can also see how much more goes.into it than 'just laying bricks'. I remember as a kid going to see the houses my Dad had built, some were pieces of art. I wish I had actually told him how proud I was of having him as a dad. He was amazing at what he did and he was a grafter. He did move into his own contracting business as he got older and I can see why you wouldn't want the stress Isaac! He was never 'off' work but he worked hard and earnt well. Keep up the great work and videos ❤

Great attitude to all those challenges Izzy. These recent builds have thrown up a lot of head scratchers but each one is more experience in the bank - both figuratively and literally. You make your own luck as they say I can now see the breaks starting to come for you. Well deserved!

Izzy...Isaac...where to begin? Incredible! Like a masterclass every video. Drew too, although i am late to the channel it is obvious how skilled you have become. And a proper grafter! Cleaning bricks! Izzy,, you are a natural in front of the camera and indeed on the microphone. Something tells me a position in mainstream media beckons. Oh and quite a fade! Oh i am curious how you 'found' Drew and interview and how you 'just knew' Drew would be the perfect apprentice. Thanks guys, loving the channel!

There SHOULD be a LARGE air space gap in-between the face of the insulation and the OUTER walls inside the cavity ; this ALSO includes an air space gap in-between the face of the insulation batt and the cavity-wall-tie drip point(which is in the centre of the cavity pointing downwards). Cavity wall-ties are laid with a slight downwards slope across the LEVEL mortar joints from the inner to the outer walls. With the cavity-wall being bridged with insulation (insulation touching the outer walls), moisture will transmit from the damp outer wall through the bridging insulation into the inner wall ! Ask City & Guilds N.V.Q. BRICKWORK teachers for proof.

Do you have a masonry saw on site with you for all the brick cutting? On site linisher to quickly clean up each brick maybe I'd try. I'm a cnc machinist not a bricklayer so I don't know how its done. Looking to get into this trade as I'm at a stop gap between jobs. Great content I've binge watched your videos ❤

Years ago I was on a job and the client got his 3 kids and got them to clean up the old bricks and paid them great pocket money to do the job. Theyd call it slave labour these days. How to go on with 73mm bricks trying to co-ordinate bed joints with standard blocks and keeping the ties level?
@IzzytheBricky
@IzzytheBricky Жыл бұрын
Hiya mate I sent up the blockwork first and kept ties usually 225 and 450, and just made the ties work with bricks 🙂 if your gonna bend ties, bend them down. All the best and new video out tomorrow 💪

I am doing a brick extension and the bricks are higher than guage. But I will have to follow this other wise I will have a cut under the window. I'm just seeing your thoughts on this? Thanks
@IzzytheBricky
@IzzytheBricky 10 ай бұрын
Hi mate, yes follow what's there to make it work under the window. You can always measure from the windowcill down to DPC and work out how many bricks go into it. You may have to increase your bed joint...or perhaps make it thinner to work
