Love you're work..young man and your a hard grafter i thought this was a thing of the past! If I can just offer a little advice I would say just slow down a little bit. I started on the Hod back in the late 80's 3/1 gang...i had to be the fastest that was my goal and now at 55 everything hurts me legs mostly....I still graft just not as fast 😂.

Puts other bricklayers to shame! I’ve worked on lots of building sites it’s just thrown In the downside of price work - if he’s happy working on day work quality can be done! As he said takes the stress away! Unlike many bricklayers they’re a bit rough looking so a handsome guy doing these films makes a change!

When I younger I said yes to everything. Then figured out how to do it. I broadened my experience in my field. Now I know what I really enjoy and competent in most areas of my trade. I'm now running my own business and keep the areas I'm most experienced and strongest at to myself delegate rest to my employees; but I have enough understanding and experience to know what to do. 100% worth making yourself a little uncomfortable. 22:28

When i was learning anything a bit complicated like bay windows with squints or radius walls i used to ask to jump on it so could learn. Most of our improvers dont wanna even try it they would rather me or my boss do it while their running in easy flanks which i really dont get as there on a day rate anyway could understand if they were on a split like us and were worried about covering there money. I want everyone to learn as much and as quick as i did so they can warrent an equal split like us

Holding my hands up here. As a site brickie I used to really struggle with drainage on domestics and taking a pay cut with a builder over two months to get my head around it was well worth it with hindsight and to be fair they taught me how to drive the dumper and excavator to a good standard as well. Class content as usual.

I'm sure Izzy has thought 🤔 about it,but he'd agree 💯 that a labourer these days will call up sick,or not roll up because they have a bone in their leg,and the very sad part is, there is absolutely no good workers anymore, that can think ahead and realise that stopping on a job, means less money for the employer,I do this in Australia and by myself aswell, and I can tell you that, that burnt 🥵🔥 out feeling is addictive,,,,screew this new generation of bloody precious mommy's boys. Love from Australia Izzy, go for it brother, top notch work. Regards Brendan

Izzy I was a Bricklayer for my career. Served a City and Guilds apprenticeship with HNC certificates and came to the US with my kids in 94. I was a masonry contractor, business owner, a Bricklaying instructor that had champions under my tutelage. I love your work ethic, there is one thing I would suggest for you to add into in your toolkit. Get and use a sled runner, it will enhance your brickwork. Those little slickers I see you all using in the UK now are made to slick up joints after they have been struck with the sled runner. You will notice a world of difference. Good luck and keep learning. Brush up on your geometry and trigonometry. You have the skill to lay a nice brick. Setting out is where it's at.

Hi Izzy great work and awesome video! Been watching a few of your videos and they are entertaining and informative. Just a question about your mortar, i can never get my mortar to look creamy like so many of you brick layers! I always seem to get it to wet, too stiff or it’s just grainy😂😂😂 I struggle with Ming big batches because I can only lay so quickly I do 12 shovels of sand, 3 to 4 cement depending on substructure or superstructure and then 1 x 25mm of mortar plasticiser then add water as needed , any advice would be appreciated

The amount of changes on that job is beyond ridiculous. I know it's not your fault but that back wall looks a right mess now due to the clients relentless changes after things are already built, when it should be a pristine brand new wall. I accept there is always some tweaks (been a carpenter for 35+ yrs) but jeez that level of changes is mental & must have cost them £10s of thousands unnecessarily.
