22:13 i think the speaker is mistaken, i'm pretty sure the British didn't need permission to finish Hood as she was finished and in service with the Royal Navy by the time of the Washington treaty

You're right, AFAIK Hood was done by 1919/20

Yes but they could keep her. Dispite being 8000 tons over the battleship weight limit and also didn't count aginst the british in the 553 ratio. It was the bonus ship like Lexingtons and the akaga and hersister which was damaged 2 years latter and replaced by kaga
