The case was the same for Ottoman Turkish, there were 3 words, arabic, persian and Turkic for one meaning thanks to their poetry... And then we just threw away all Persian and Arabic words if they are not used generally :D So kalem or kitap remained but generally language became so simpler and everyone started to learn writing after ww1. Germans, Hungarians and Netherlands did the same thing long before us. Especially Netherlands created a much simpler language. It is good in one way, but bad in another. maybe we'll see you turning to Eski Ozbekche in future. Who knows
