This is essentially where I'm at :) He just pointed out the exact "issue" that I'm working on to overcome. I just don't see how learning online,without these crucial adjustments,is possible. Hope to see you in HK someday.

Hope to welcome you to HK too. The cues that we give in the online videos, what to look for, how should the partner test it, which area should release or expend, what are signs that you're on the right path etc. are all very helpful for guiding the viewer. On our online community on FB there are so many ppl who you can chat to and they will tell you they have got rid of their chronic pain and alignment issues just from the videos. Also CST never had any tactile taught training (in the way he dis with us) from Ip Man and discovered his way according to what Ip Man said But I understand that not everyone has the time to watch a lot of instructional videos AND do the practice...

How can I like a video, AGAIN!? - Man, wish I was closer to your school in HK
@MindfulWingChun Жыл бұрын
haha, cheers man. Not sure if you do have any plans of traveling this year but FINALLY they have dropped all the silly covid rule like mask wearing here in Hong Kong so it's a great time for travel. They are also giving away 500k free flight tickets to boost tourism. I think it'll be in May so be on the lookout for that. And I'm guessing you're on the online school already but if not, it really is the next best thing and even those who initiatially say they can not learn online come back and say they get a lot out of the program. www.mindfulwingchun.online Looking forward to seeing you, hopefully sooner than later Sebastian 👊

To the practitioners out there.. if you're serious about training in this style, I highly recommend visiting the guys in HK as much as you can. I previously lived in HK and was lucky enough to train with them for a few years, and I will say that the way they are able to guide and "adjust" you is a bit part of the learning process. They help your body understand how it's supposed to feel. Some of the feelings and experiences I had training with them I didn't and don't understand to this day, but I felt them and they continue to guide me as I continue to train on my own. In fact, that was a big lesson I learned.. that it's okay to continue even if the mind doesn't understand what it's trying to do. Just set the soft intention of relaxation, tai gung, and seng and feel/explore your way through each day. That said, the online course is great and will take you far, but ultimately, this is a feeling practice.

For someone with a crooked spine, is there a certain guideline to follow in developing a straight spine?
@MindfulWingChun2 жыл бұрын
yes definitely. By using Taigung (internal core muscle activation) and Seng (decompression of the spine from bottom to top). there was a guy called Daniel Malone with a sever case of scoliosis and he straightened it after 4years of this practice at Chu shong tins school

none yet, but that's why we have the online school so that you have access to this method regardless of where you live in the world :)

CST is trying to teach emptiness. Emptiness is such a loaded word and hard to understand for external practicioners. Chinese word for emptiness is sung. The word sung came from the word shun, short for shunya in the thousand years old sankrit language. The full word or practice is shunya yoga which aims to achieve emptiness. Once emptiness is achieved then you have sha-kti or qi or chi. This knowledge is known and passed down by yogis and healers for many thousand of years and then by martial artist masters in relatively recent centuries. Go to the source.

Thanks for sharing. Yes Yoga and other ancient arts have very many similarities to what he was teaching. But Yoga doesn't teach the Martial side of things and so for me personally I like doing this as it ticks many boxes (of benefits) simultaneously.

If I say "move free" then I must get out of my way to let body show "moving free" and surprise myself (or even simply asking 'where is our free-movements and get out of the way)-- I think that is the idea behind "planting the little idea" . Just like if I want to sit and stand up (squats) without creating pain on my body then I must simply be there to see how body can do so without creating any unneccesary pain without me trying to interfere. ABACADRA :)
