Really enjoyed the interview with Kaya and as I said at the end of the live ‘ he was fascinating’ I intelligent and stylish. Thank you Persolaise for another great show . Will definitely check out this house .

He had me at "Sasha Waltz" Very intriguing concept of the brand. It seems almost impossible to get your nose on the scents here in Germany which is a shame. Thank you for the introduction to the brand!

Would love to see a Roja Dove episode and Yann Vasnier episode. Great videos. You are extremely knowledgeable, eloquent and passionate in a jovial and not overbearing way. You are the fragrance reviewing gem of KZbin and I am a happy subscriber. All the best from Ireland 🇮🇪😊

I initially thought 'oh no, another self-indulgent, pretentious bougee artist interview'. My 2nd thought was 'yeah ok, I've become enamored with perfume discussions/bloggers in this time of covid and have begun to dip my toe into perfume buying. isn't that the pot calling the kettle black; am I not trying to inhabit this bougee world to some degree through scent?.' But by the end of the video, I was utterly captivated by Kaya Sorhaindo and his ideas, not to mention your interview techniques in 'wrangling the artist'. thank you

I do wear fragrances emotionally, not for smelling good, so I get it. He seems like a nice person to have a chat with, but he's really into stories and not so much really talking about perfume. I think this was the video with less perfume talk that I've watched on this channel :))

That’s a very fair point. But I suppose it also displayed the possibilities of perfume: a conversation on the subject doesn’t just have to be about smell. Thanks very much for taking the time to write.

Yes, I saw that. He's really passionate about film and it shows.

I came across this house when they collaborated with Aciman's new book. And I've always loved museums. The whole concept the website shows was irresistible to me.The information about the actual scents being scarce in the cyber world , I still couldn't help getting samples in the deep despair of the pandemic. Gladly the all four I tried turned out to be more than intriguing and not intimidating at all as they might seem to want to present them to be. My friend had samples of other three, and he liked them all as well. I am definitely getting more and hope to find them in museums in the future. This interview should have a follow up too.

This was so interesting! I went to the website shop, and the perfumes are not the ones on Fragrantica. Please cover the fragrances! I saw Amore. Any time I see that word, I think of the piece by Ryuichi Sakamoto which is one of my favorite things in the world! Surprise! That’s the inspiration! Now I’m super intrigued!

‘Intriguing’ is the best word for this brand. Thank you so much for watching.

Very interesting man. Recieved my first Six Scents fragrance this week, Nappa Noir and I was very impressed. A storm of passion and power in a bottle. I am looking forward to exploring both houses further.

Thanks for this interview Persolaise and Kaya I really enjoyed the interview. I am intrigued and will purchase samples soon. Interesting that he was behind Six Scents too as I own one of them (The Spirit of Wood). Interesting that he worked with Yann Vasnier as he also did some for Six Scents too. I think Yann is a great perfumer and I'm always intrigued to try his creations. His L'homme de Couer for Divine is a top notch Iris fragrance. Kaya's inspiration behind his fragrances may seem unusual to some but I think he has a clear focus and a lot of passion and that's what matters.

The new line has quite different approaches from Six Scents olfactory-wise from my experience with both houses. (I actually knew Six Scents because of Folie.)

The main reason I wear perfume is for my own enjoyment. My favorite time for perfume is late at night. In fact, I’m almost embarrassed if someone smells something on me.

This was say more interesting than I expected. Well I didn't know what to expect since it's a new house to me. I've often thought when visiting art galleries that it would be fantastic to bring scent into the picture. That comparison to Fougere Royall really piqued my interest, need to sample that one!

I love the idea behind this. My business side wonders how to scale this idea. For example I stayed at the polynesian resort in Disney. I'd love if they sold a cologne that captures that memory. In fact, I even went out and got the same scent they used to scent the building to scent my house.

This is one of the main reasons why, if I’m going somewhere I’ve never been before for a long-ish stay, I take a new scented candle. It’s my own way of associating that smell with the place. Thanks for watching 😊

Hi Dariush, thank you for the interview. I had not heard of the brand before, but Kaya's approach to perfumery has me interested. I had a question regarding "Looking for langston": would you say that it is a leather in the same vein as older floral leathers (e.g. cuir de russie, knize ten), or more modern like tuscan leather? Thanks in advance!
@Persolaise4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. LfL is definitely not like Tuscan Leather. I’d say it’s much closer to the smoothness and softness of Chanel CdR.
