Reese already had a fight with Simmons prior to this arc. Even though Simmons had a few moments, it basically amounted to John toying with him and beating him up before disappearing just to make a statement. Even with the "revenge for Carter" narrative, I don't think that fight needed a rerun -- especially since Reese was already going after Simmons' boss at the same time and this instead served as a great time to further develop Fusco's character. Overall, this was a really great way to handle it.

@@presde34 I wonder who would be what.I suppose John would be Grey, Fusco would be White and Elias would be Black. TBH you could switch them all up and it would still fit. I thought of putting John in Black because of his rampage and all the things that he did for the CIA, Elias would be grey and most fitting, he was a criminal but a man of honour, a code. Fusco may have started out as a corrupt cop but god damn did he turn into an angel. Fuck it, FUSCO IS WHITE, the other two can fight it out.

Thumbs-Up #81 I am, Friday late morn 4 January 2019! Sometimes when there is so much dialogue, the “bad guy” comes up with a gun and shoots the other. I was concerned on Detective Fusco’s behalf. Then again, other times, some one out of frame shoots the “bad guy” and says “you were gonna talk him to death anyway”.

Fusco is marked with a white square just like Simmons. The Machine doesn’t root for anybody in this fight… !

White means theyre unaware of the machine. Has nothing to do with who its rooting for. Arguably because it didnt give Reese and Harold Lionels number, it had faith that Lionel would kick Simmons ass.
