What makes the encounter rate worse is how slow and tedious the battles feel. I tried playing Persona 1 about 2 months ago and after going through like 3 encounters, I just stopped playing and never went back. The only good thing is the battle music (both PS1 and PSP)

Been playing through the entire smt franchise in roughly order of release and so far the absolute worst encounter rate was in the smt1 government building, persona 1 isn't even in the discussion. Literally every 2-4 steps was an encounter. Only place in the game where the agro indicator was always full red. I guess it was only 1 area and not a whole game though...

@@infinity999i0 excuse me, "Mr.I wanna cheese the game with a magicite guide" Persona 1 has: - Shit aliments - Expensive gear - Has shit movesets - Has shit attack ranges - Has shit group formations (like half reflect magic and half reflect physical) - Has a shit reset in the dungeon theme after battle (You will never hear the full theme without Estoma [Which will not work until you finish the dungeon]) - Has a shit EXP system that does not consider Healing in the scaling - Ect - Has Shit encounter rates - Has shit instakills
