@@unwithering5313 No they weren't leftover tracks. They were orginals trying to make P1 look like P3 and P4. None of the lyrics or tracks could've fit enough with P3 or P4 to have been actually made and then not used until P1.

@@tokyojuul9987 Agreed, for example the first few lines of "Dream of Butterfly" are clearly meant to be from Maki's perspective. And while some of the new songs like "School Days" are catchy as hell they simply don't fit the tone of the first game, it's quite clear that the new tracks were put in to appeal more towards fans of P3 and P4.

Kandori's boss fight was epic in the additional scenario. I was at the same level as him (70) and I was besting all the enemies and bosses easily until he showed up. The only move that does damage against him is Gigantic Fist, and he resists fire and sword and reflects nuclear. Unperishable Black is a pain as it halves your remaining HP, Crawling Chaos does a good amount of damage and inflicts mute, and he can heal himself with Diarama. I felt at the edge of my seat fighting him along with this theme. It's sad that not many people know much about him because most people don't play Persona 1 and the additional scenario never got released outside of Japan :(

I did that fight on Hard mode with just a stock Tatsuya a few years ago and the only reason I won was because I had some Taru/Raku Kaja beads, Silver Manishas to block Unperishable and Muscle Drinks to full heal. You're a champ for doing that fight.

Still think it should've stuck with the industrial metal of the original. I love this but Industrial Metal just fits better. If they do another remake, remake both soundtracks but do a jazz fusion remix of the battle themes for PSP.

There's a reason why the PSP remake's OST was met with such a backlash, Shoji Meguro is an amazing composer in his own right, but that arrangement was a dark mark on his track record. Atlus should've allowed us to switch between the remake's OST and the original's OST. Had they done so, I would've bought the game no hesitation. This arrangement is excellent for sure though, and proof that Atlus screwed up royally with the Persona 1 remake.

Problem with an ost switching option is that the PSP version cut a number of tracks entirely with no replacement. Like Kandori's three themes for example were removed entirely.
