Because this opening is from the PSP port of Persona 2 which was made in 2011 (I think) and Persona 3 was like made in 2006 so that explains it

I mean, Persona 1 and 2 were already remade from the PS to the PSP roughly 10 years later. So a 3rd remake would just be asking for a bit knowing Atlus and how they act like Persona 1 and 2 aren't a thing.

The more I look at it the more it seems to be influenced by Evangelion. It's a weird statement to say on just a surface level preassumption but this is very similar to the experimental shit that was going on in anime at the time after the release of Eva.

Much as I enjoy Persona 3,4 or 5 this onejsut as a Shin Megamai Tensei brand of sheer insanity that jsut isn't as marked after that. Sure shooting god, solving murders and stealing hearts is fineand good but nothing tops the insanity of pilloting a burning zepellin, fighting nazi robots, a giant city spaceship and punching Hitler, y'know ?
