Not true. In Persona 5, time in the metaverse proceeded at an equal pace with time in the real world, if not slightly slower... When the main character enters the Velvet Room, time does not stop, as Ryuji notes that the main character was just standing still and doing nothing (while you're inside the Velvet Room). So if Ryuji can perceive the flow of time while your character is in the Velvet Room, then the Velvet Room does not stop time (however, it may even be slower than the metaverse as it seems your character was only motionless for a short period of time).

@@Lily_Valentine In the game actually relevant to this comment, it is stated that time does not matter there. Keep in mind another factor where it's not just the protagonist entering the velvet room, the whole party does.

After playing P2 (at last), I'll miss having Belladona and Nameless there to talk to. It added some depth to the room instead of just being "oh, fuse your demons here and maybe take a sidequest". They always had something new to say when you made even a bit of progress in the game, and hearing them comment on the soul was unexpectedly profound sometimes; I doubt they'll bring them back, though, now that they're rolling with the whole "just Igor and an attendant" gig.
