One genuinely super clever thing in Persona 4 Arena is that they snuck in every single status effect from the main persona games and translated them to work naturally in a fighting game, its really sick Poison - Damage over time Mute - Prevents you from using Persona attacks Freeze - Freezes opponents in place unless they mash out Rage - Increases damage output but prevents the you from blocking Panic - Reverses your controls Charmed - Drains super meter and gives it to the person who applied the status Shock/Paralysis - Prevents you from moving aside from more committal universal movement options (Dodge Roll, Short Hop) Fear - Makes every attack a fatal counter (big damage combos) and prevents you from teching throws

@rhyno39 one other thing with the Fear status effect is that it massively buffs the damage on Elizabeth and Adachi's command grab supers, Ghastly Wail. It turns them into one of the highest damage supers in the entire game

In persona 4, Chie's follow-up attack is called 'galactic punt' and automaticly kills most enemies in the game. Sometimes, you can see the actual damage dealt and it's like 13 000 something damage. So yeah, her insta-kill's based on that.

Yes, P4 Ultimax, if your chat didn't inform you, takes place the Golden Week after the end of the story. So it's only a couple months after Narukami returned home. But if I remember right, it's two or three years after for the P3 cast. Also the Nicknames are supposed to be a bit insulting to the characters. It'll make since if you play the Story Mode.

P4 spoilers for anyone that hasn't played it yet The P4 cast doesn't use their evolved Personas here because in the original game, they're obtained by completing their social links as opposed to being part of the plot like P3, so they're possibly non-canon due to being optional.

Shadow Labrys's Persona is the Minotaur and her instant kill is the Greek lore on it where the Minotaur is lock inside a labyrinth and chases all who dares to enter, in this case she just throw her opponent into the labyrinth for the monster to feed

SHO Minazuki has no Persona, giving him extra versions of his Knife Toss and extra Specials in general Sho MINAZUKI has a Persona to do Persona stuff with and is super good if I recall. They're different versions of the same person.

So if you remember at the end of p3 they were all going to leave the dorm when SEES ended so koromaru had decided he wanted to stay with the protag when they all split up, but because of what happens in the end he stays with ken instead

The P3 girls don't look that different because Reload basically gave them the same proportions they had in this game. If you look at Mitsuru in the original game and compare her to Arena, she got a couple of big upgrades in the process.

Perhaps upload maybe a compilation of major events such as the midnight channel, the deaths of Saki and Morooka, the Adachi reveal, the Chihiro cameo, the moment you realized who the “true culprit” was. This is just a suggestion.

I definitely considered doing every midnight channel segment in one video along with those boss fights so maybe I will! not a bad shout, it’s more so the ending stuff I’m stuck on if I should have that whole string of events from Adachi onwards as one video or separate them because it’d be LONG as one

Some cool details about the Ken and Koromaru in Arena: Reasons why they're paired: 1. there is what you mentioned with them being light and dark. However... 2. They are also the Justice and Strength Arcanas, and depending on the interpretation of the major arcana, Justice and Strength swap places in terms of being the 8th or 11th card. 3. Every other SEES member graduated, leaving Ken to be the only one who still lives at the school island that Koromaru lives. General: 1. Koromaru is now wearing the jacket that Ken used to wear back in P3, with the custom Evoker collar and wings over it instead of the old white shirt worn by the dog in P3 2. Characters who valued combat ability before getting their Personas (Kanji, Akihiko, Chie, Naoto, and Ken) have fewer Persona attacks than other characterss, instead focusing their playstyle on fighting on their own with the Persona abilities as a backup. Koromaru also is like this, though we don't know if Koromaru cares too badly about being a strong dog. Koromaru could also be explained by him being paired with Ken and not wanting them to have way too many moves. 3. Ken now wears the armband signifying that he is part of the student council. Concept art facts: 1. Although not in the game itself, the concept art for the game includes an image of Koromaru with scars over his body, with an Afghan Hound and three white puppies, all wearing matching red scarves. 2. The same concept art page also depicts Koromaru dressed up as like, Punished Venom Snake from Metal Gear Solid 5, with an eyepatch over one eye... and... a grenade launcher and minigun strapped to his back... for some reason. 3. The same concept art page has Ken with a big, super flowy trenchcoat over his school uniform and slicked back hair, looking like he's trying way too hard to be cool. There's also art of him as a jailer with a whip for some reason. As a note, he's described to be a sever sufferer of chunibyo, so that could be why. Either that, or the devs were having fun.

I'm a month late to this, and you probably already have the relative information, but P4AU is a sequel to P4A, so if you haven't played the first game, then there might be confusion entering in the story. Adachi, Marie, and Margaret were also dlc for the initial release of the game as a fun fact.

The one thing of the IKs though, they aren't necessarily something you should land consistently or get off. As I if I remember how the limits for it go: You need to be at match point in your favor, it's first to 2 points so after winning 1 round it is available. However there is also a second condition if I remember right where you need to be in Awakening State (the moment when you are around or below 1/3 HP and a cut-in occurs, boosting the Meter Gauge cap from 100 to 150 while also providing a small meter boost) or just have 100 Meter/Max Meter to spend. So basically with those limitations on IKs, they are mostly there for style points or to show off. Since if you can finish a match with IK it's like a badge of honor you tacked on. So don't judge the characters by the IK but rather how the character plays or feels to you, and if they have a good IK you can sometimes find a moment to let it shine when the opportunity arises.

Adachi in P4AU is really fun to play with if you're good with his moves cause I have hard time timing the right hit 😂 But if you get the hang of it he can be one of the top fighters. Also lore wise, he's a good boy in the story and very much real!
