Fun Fact: Zato-1 is a refference to Zatoichi (ichi means 1 in japanese), which is a fictional blind swordsman, which is the basis for every blind swordsman with a cane sword/straight katana character in games and anime. Nagoriyuki, on the other hand, is based on "Yasuke", a real life African Samurai who served under Oda Nobunaga.

if you wanna see the full specials, don't do it near the wall, whenever a character is hit with a "heavy attack" they do a Wall-break, that gives a positive bonus to whoever hit them trough, but it also cuts the animations of specials

okay so for Nagoriyuki, his blood rage is basically a limiter mechanic that forces you to be careful when using his special moves, since they're really good and can be cancelled into each other. When you enter blood rage, you have the really long punishable animation to start, and then half of your health drains over the course of the rage. The blood rage super is the only way to end it manually, otherwise you have to wait out the entire thing. Also the super reaches fullscreen.

Also when in blood rage all specials are locked except for the home run super. Which takes away fukio, his only real mobility option. With the addition of wild assault though going blood rage is actually kind of a viable option now.

Guilty Gear really is quite the interesting series, with cool and crazy characters, interesting lore, and amazing designs! I would recommend checking out the Instant Kills/Destroyeds from Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, which are super cinematic and well done for a game about a decade old. Though two Instant Kills, Faust’s and Dizzy’s, change slightly depending on the opponent and finding a separate video for the both of them would be necessary if you want to go through them all, but if don’t want to than that’s fine as well. Otherwise, keep up the good content!

@@ChocolateKieran It’s a pretty unique mechanic that’s been in most of the Guilty Gear games, as the name suggests, if it hits the opponent then it wins you the round, however it comes with a huge risk that if it is blocked or misses the opponent, it completely drains a gauge that is used to perform certain attacks and techniques and prevents the usage of said moves until the next round, when the gauge is drained it also gradually reduces HP until you are left with 1. It’s a high-risk high-reward move that is usually only used to end a round quickly or when one player is unlikely to win the round without it.

From what I can see. Ya' missed Ky Kiske's third Super (the only one with 3 Supers) which is more like a perma install. And I-No's Super from very close. Some supers behaves differently if being hit from close or afar (not triggering the cinematic) The Dio move from Axl does trigger after a bit by itself, Giovanna turns green when 100% meter which is a buff if not using Tension (like a Rage mode in Tekken), Nagoriyuki is more of a way to cancel your Install as it has cons like activating by itself which is punishable if not controlled, and finally Potemkin and Faust has different reactions from each opponents when landing their cinematic Super, in case ya' are curious.

Guilty Gear really is such a rock n roll love letter of a game. Sol Badguy's favorite band canonically is Queen. His headband has the words "ROCK YOU" scratched into it as a reference to their song. This game is full of sick references like that.@@ChocolateKieran

As a potemkin main, he has a lot of other grabs. I recommend his air grab called "heat knuckle" and his air grab. Not the potemkin buster, but his air grab. You just press dust in air while holding back or foward.

one of Faust’s random items from “what’s this?” Is a meteor and I believe in a previous game there was a very very small chance for him to instead summon a massive meteor that covered almost the entire screen. Also, that game has instant kill moves a few of which have really funny animations. Fausts and dizzy’s specifically are hilarious imo

ZATO-1's lil shadowdude is a symbiote/parasite that he exists with and uses for powers, and the shadowdude is called Eddie. In previous games, he was the leader of a group of assassins, and was later replaced as leader by a guy called Venom. I know what you are, Daisuke.

Faust is my favourite character!!! With his wheelchair super, every character has their own unique reaction to it, and will exclaim something. For example (at least in the eng dub version), because Ky Kiske is French, he yells in French! I really like seeing the funny faces everyone pulls ^_^

So every character has their own theme that plays when you play as them. All of them absolute bangers. The one song you heard is called “Find Your Own Way” and it is the theme for Sol Badguy. I definitely recommend checking out the rest of the songs.

You should check out the Guilty Gear Strive movie just fun xd - You can watch it in-game through the "Story" tab. It's about 4.5 hours long though so watching it all through one sit-down could be rough.

The OST in GG Strive is so different in a good way compared to all the other titles in the series. I still love the older soundtracks of past games but this is so refreshing. Kind of miss the Instant Kill moves for the extra flashy'ness but its okay.

The funny shadow fella summoned by zato is his puppet and is named Eddie. He has a few different attacks which launch when you release the according attack button. Eddie meter (bottom left) can drain and unable you to summon him for a while. The sword super is a fullscreen projectile targeted at the enemy, it does less dmg than the shark one but it summons Eddie on the ground and refills the Eddie bar

people might’ve already said this but The reason for Nago’s second super being underwhelming is mainly cause blood rage isn’t exactly a mode you want to be in you more want to keep it in the 3rd tier of his bar for the best effect, as blood rage drains your health and often spells certain death if you enter it without a plan, the second super acts as a panic button as it gets enemies away from you, deals a lot of damage, and gets you out of blood rage

@@ChocolateKieran oh yeah definitely give it a shot! You won't regret it! I ended up training my whole friend circle how to play and now we get together every so often to drink and play. One of them is way better than me now though LOL. Sadly the online is pretty much dead due to no roll back netcode on PlayStation. Oh yeah and every character has finishing moves as well! Popping one of those off in a match is always hype as hell.
