honestly that would be a much better way of keeping shinjiro alive if the female route was there. Him just happening to survive 2 revolver shots to the chest because of a watch is dumb, plus it kills akihikos grief later on. Having him die but his soul refusing to move on yet until they do what they set out to do works wonderfully. Especially when it better sets up the fact that the protagonist basically does the same thing after forming the seal. Refusing to die and holding on until they got to meet their friends again.

I was in a JoJo tabletop game, where you'd evolve your stands through the game. Long story short: my character was on his last legs so many times, his stand learned the skill "Purgatory" before the final battle. His blood ran cold, he could use his stand without limit, all this cool stuff, and he stopped bleeding since his wounds would freeze over when hurt. Only to find out once the final battle was won, he wasn't needed and saluted his friends as he evaporated in the morning sunlight, standing high with a huge grin on his face. To him, it didn't matter he died. The only thing that mattered was that he was the only casualty that night, and the bad guys were defeated.

It would be funny honestly. Shinjiro persisting would throw a curveball at Ryoji, because he's essentially dead but yet his soul continues to burn, clinging to life and doing unfinished business. That is his answer, and it's one that would kind of upend Ryoji and even Erebus. He stands as the absolute antithesis of what made Erebus: a dead man who yearns for life.

Basically in Persona 3 Portable, if you play the female route, you can establish a social link with Shinji. Max it out and find his pocket watch and Shinji only gets hospitalized instead of killed. He shows up at the end of the game in FemMC's final moments if you romance him and chose his option.

The best way is just a PS2 emulator for FES, but it could be done on a homebrew PS3. (I don't know how PS4 handles Classic Games but it can run, just may take more work) Persona 5/Royal, 5 Strikers, 5 Tactica, 4 Golden, 3 Portable, and 3 Reload, due to having PC versions, can thus be modded without emulation. You can also have the mods run on console through homebrew. Although PS4 is more reliable than Xbox or Switch due to longevity. In short. Use google, or KZbin. "How To Mod Persona", you will find many guides. You can specify the game title to narrow it down.
