In my opinion, the Shinji ending and the pocketwatch saving him from dying is the canon path for the female MC. I know it technically *isn't* but it really feels like a complete, beautiful story this way as opposed to with Aigis.

@@carissaap7003 All in all any references sequels do to past events do accomodate pretty well for changes resulting from player choise (only exception I can think of from the top of my head being the English version using gendered "he" fo P3 protagonist), so I don't see much point in arguing over what is or isn't the canon reality of the "main story". Shinji could technically still be alive and around by the time of Arenas and whatnot, he's just no longer member of SEES.

There is no canon pairing in the game. You get to end up with whoever the hell you want, which is why Atlus isn't open or doesn't sell any merchandise of the Main Character doing romantic actions to another character. But, the Female main character falls in love with Shinji in the Theatre play so.. it's the closest to being canon.

You know what I really like about Shinji living and being the "canon" pairing for FeMC? It completely changes the group dynamic in the hypothetical FeMC version of The Answer in extremely interesting ways, as now Shinji slots very nicely into Yukari's shoes and Akihiko could still be the opposing force that wants the group to move forward, but now the conflict between them is extremely deep and personal because not only have they known each other for so long and have so much shared history, Akihiko could be extremely scorned that FeMC loved Shinji instead of him, and that could inform so much of their decisions throughout The Answer. In the original version of The Answer, Akihiko made a very good foil to Yukari because while yes, Yukari probably did love Minato, everyone in SEES lost him, but Akihiko also lost a little more than anyone else because he was closest to Shinji. Flip the script to the FeMC route, Shinji lives and is now directly opposed to him, Akihiko suddenly has a lot less weight to throw around. Or, you could be even more radical with your changes and have someone like Mitsuru take Akihiko's position and explore that dynamic.

Worst part people forget, Shinji dies regardless of whether Strega shoots him or not... His Persona pills he took consistently actually have been killing and worsening his health for a long time. I've heard people say that after this, Shinji dies on the roof with Femc, which I do find really sad but sweet that he ran up there.

@@PlatinumDustVA The problem overall with the Suppressants is that we know very little about them, we know they are extremely bad for you, but it is never stated that the side effects can't be treated in some way with the help of the Kirijo group. Sure Takaya mentions that Shinjiro will die regardless/soon, but what is soon in their eyes, a week, a month, half a year? I know it's meant to be vague since all about living your life to the fullest never knowing when your life will end, but I wish they made it more clear, hell we have to assume Strega has been taken the Suppressants longer than Shinijro, and they are still kicking around.

I can definitely see a Female Route "The Answer" with him taking Yukari's place, quarreling Aigis, blaming himself for her death, wishing he was dead and losing his mind. But at the end he finds "the Answer" and overcomes his issues.

This is totally what I would have wanted for a The Answer Femc route, you can have it even going two ways at the end, Shinjiro accepts death once again willingly joining Kotone in the Sea of Souls, or Awakening to his Ultimate Persona right before the Erebus fight(or after learning the truth about Kotone's sacrifice).

Sure, he would have a hard time accepting his forgiveness at first, but the reason he resolved to die in the first place was because of Ken and that's why he came back to SEES, so Ken could have his revenge. As for a cure, assuming it's not too late yet, I always headcanoned that his coma route enables them to get him clean off suppressants while he's sleeping (getting the "poison" out of his system the same way you would a drug addict), as he's in a coma maybe Castor would also be more dormant so the withdrawal symptoms wouldn't be as bad (Castor wouldn't go berserk on him)?

Shinji's been through way too much already and doesn't deserve this crap in the slightest (and the only reason I'm emphasizing how crappy this is for Shinji is because Minako at least had time to accept it. Though I can only imagine how heartbroken she must be over realizing how broken this cruel timing is gonna leave the person she loves). Neither of them deserve this. In the slightest. I mean it's still spectacular but I'm still really freaking bitter about it because I just want my favorite characters to be happy is that too much to ask?!

Sorry to dissapoint you but if the answer was made then Aigis will still take the role as the protagonist. You should know by now saving Shinjiro is optional and can be considered non-canonical as much as you wanted him to be alive, the same thing like saving Chidori. And there is not even a single hint of him liking her romantically. I highly doubt Shinjiro will be there and if so what's the point of Akihiko and Ken's development? And the whole "accepting death"? It would be interesting to explore Shinjiro if he lived to be present for the Answer but more for the fact that he’ll still be dying because of the stuff he was taking to suppress his Persona and how a seeming miracle of survival becomes a curse when his body starts to really act up as he starts approaching his expiration date. The bullet shot in the main timeline was a merciful one for him compared to the agony P3P Shinjiro is going through.

If they ever make a Persona 3 reboot, with the answer included, they should just make whoever you had social linked your final protag. Give us Shinjiro on his last breath fighting for the memory of Femc. He would want to protect her sacrifice and not rewrite the past...in the end, she makes the same decision he did. To accept death and then to die for a good reason.

Just finish this game. It was Aigis instead. But, she's just sleep, right? There's no way she died right? If she is, then it make me wanna cry right now. The feeling so different from Persona 4. Persona 4 have happy ending, not bittersweet like this T.T So, she's not die, right? Anyhow, something make me wondering, does she remember everything like Aegis did or does she's forget just like everyone else?

+doraluffy Your first and only option is Aigis - after that, if you play through the game again you can choose any romance route that you maxed. And yes, you do die, to become the "Great Seal" that protects Earth. She/you remembers everything - and everyone else remembers on the very last day.

Yeah, Persona 4 has a very different feeling than Persona 3. Persona 3 is all about nihilism, and the extremely narrow, almost non-existent line between life and death. It's a very depressing game through and through. Persona 4, on the other hand, has much more traditionally anime values - bonds, friendship, accepting yourself, etc. It's not just about the ending, the whole journey is very different.

she/he (the cannon is a he) isn't dead persona 4 says in one point that the protagonist somehow is sealed along with nyx (is actually more implied)

Chronus Lord Of Shadows His physical body is dead. His soul is stuck as the seal protecting humanity's dark thoughts from reaching Nyx and as such is unable to move on into whatever the afterlife of the Persona universe is.

Well, I'd imagine what it mostly has going for it is that women can actually play as a woman for like the first time ever in a persona game? That's why I like it.

BrassPetals I do understand that. There are positives to the game like controllable party members, femc. Her story is a little different to the male. However I just don’t like the look of it. It’s mostly 2D instead of 3D and that’s what puts me off the most about it. Obviously it’s on the PSP. Portable would be my least favourite version of persona and that includes 1 and 2

Unknown Glitch If you completed his Social Link as FemMC, he didn't die. His pocket watch partially stopped the bullet and he fell into a coma.
