I always thought the ‘the potential’ was random and just an overly simplistic way to get party members to have personas. But I can really see what they were going for after watching your video. I always knew P3 had a major death theme, but I seriously never picked up on the depression element. Great video nonetheless!

Now that you mentioned it, Koromaru likely has depression and I believe canine depression is real, stemming from the fact that his previous owner was killed by Shadows and Shinjiro temporarily parted from Sees because of an incident he caused.

Yeah, Koromaru has depression too, but the idea of a sad doggo is too much for me so, after hugging my dog for 20 minutes straight, I kinda just resolved to go with the joke instead

You make such great points in this video! I'm glad it also seems to perform well for you, I feel like performance is so unpredictable as a small channel... my video tanked lol. Anyhow, I think specifically Femc is one of the most underrated Persona storylines. It changes thing in slight ways that genuinely means a lot to the right people.

Good video. As someone who has lived with MDD for a very long time the Persona series I feel speaks to this well, especially P3. I think it's disappointing when I hear some people be dismissive of FeMC for being cheerful, because she is a very good depiction of 'smiling depression'. Side note: I am a bit confused why you keep referring to the male and female P3 protagonists as canonically siblings. Not that I am against that somehow being the case, but I thought Persona Q2 had completely ruled that out as that game explains her existence in relation to the rest of the Persona games. Kotone (P3P FeMC) in that game is established as coming from her own parallel world and when Kotone meets Makoto (P3 male mc) they don't recognize each other. Kotone herself states to Chie "The only one I didn't know is Makoto-Kun [...] but when I first saw him... he didn't feel like a stranger to me".

i actually never interpreted the inability for makoto/minato to friendzone the social link girls as him uncaringly throwing himself at women out of numbness. i just assumed the devs figured "meh im sure the boys that play this would want a harem" hence why you can have one in 4 and 5 as well, either that or they didnt want to/couldnt add extra dialogue for the multiple routes. that actually puts a new spin on the story i didnt even consider before. makoto after helping these girls gets gratification from them then moves on to whomever else, you could get really dark with it and say he only sees links as a means to an end like some players might feel as well. but the girls DO express jealousy over eachothers hanging out with him so maybe him cheating IS intended as a character beat. hes always portrayed as a good person though, apathetic and all. I doubt thats whats to be gleamed here. especially not the means to an end bit considering he loves his friends so much he'd give himself up for them, the social links do state "YOU feel a strong/unbreakable bond" so he definitely does care about his commections. so much so he gains godlike power from them, the depth of your bonds DOES impact your persona strength so what does it say about him that he becomes omnipotent from them.

What do you think of the series overall my list goes like this also no spinoffs sorry q2 and strikers and arena 5 persona revelations and portable 4 persona 3 3 persona 5 2 persona 2 1 persona 4 there all good but this is the like the order I would go through to find one to play 5 being the lowest and 1 being the highest

I think my overall list for the series would be: #1) Persona 4 (Golden/base game), #2) Persona 3 Portable, #3) Persona 3 (Including base game and FES here), and finally Persona 5 -- I was really disappointed by 5 and I felt there were a lot of let downs in things like character development and story progression.
