Gameplay and commentary from my current P3R playthrough.
This video is aimed at those who are not familiar yet with Persona 3 and would like some impression of what a boss fight is like, warts and all.
I am not a Persona perfectionist or cultist - I simply play the games because they are to me some of the very best of what video games can offer us in thoughtful entertainment.

Welcome to my world of Persona 3 Reload. I want to share some recent gameplay with you and hope you find my approach (not textbook!) and commentary both interesting and enjoyable. The video is aimed more at those who haven't yet played Persona 3 or even any Persona game. A NOTE on Levels: Some people may find my team member level of around 25 perhaps on the high side. However, I do not grind in Tartarus (not so far anyway!) - I haven't found it necessary. I simply clear all floors of all enemies *once*. Only at one point did I re-fight shadows on one floor simply bc I wanted to reach Lv 25 to allow me to do a particular fusion. I don't doubt that it is perfectly possible to do do this particular dual boss fight (bosses 4/5) at lower levels. However, I think my experiment of repeating the boss fight demonstrates that the unpredictability (the Luck factor) could well play a part in the outcome.

I think Celceta is actually quite similar to Ys8. To me, Falcom took what's great about Celceta, and then expanded it with so much more for Ys 8!

Hello Britta, I found out about your channel through your Xbox video and listened to your story. I'm really glad I did, I think you helped me regain some perspective about how important it is to have fun and enjoy life, despite still being a gamer, I thought I'd forgotten something crucial about that. I'm very happy that you shared your story, it helped me. I also noticed you're a big JRPG fan, I hope Xbox is able to provide you with enough Japanese games to keep you satisfied. Unfortunately, because Xbox never took off in Japan, Japanese games never quite took off on Xbox the same way they did on Nintendo or Sony consoles. But current Xbox leadership has been working hard to get more Japanese games on Xbox mainly because of people like you or I, and also Japanese subscribers to Gamepass, who play Japanese games. So hopefully that's been improving.

Hello and welcome! Thank you for your feedback. Yes, I notice how Xbox is really working hard at improving its Japanese game coverage. Getting P3R Day 1 was pretty amazing! I am actually atm working on a video about/around Xbox/Gamepass from yet another perspective. 😀 It's important to focus on the good things in life, without us losing our critical abilities to see the real problems in this world.

@@Food4Dogs Thank you for your reply. I should mention that, even though Xbox doesn't have a large library of Japanese games, they do have a pretty decent set of exclusive or unique titles, such as Panzer Dragoon Orta, Jet Set Future, Otogi, Blue Dragon, and Lost Odyssey. Xbox in many ways is a successor to Sega's Dreamcast console, they even originally intended to include Dreamcast compatibility with the original Xbox. That's why Sega titles like Yakuza, Persona, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Jet Set and others are so prominent on the platform. If you had to sum up Xbox in three phrases it would probably be: Halo, Sega games and PC ports. Xbox was the first console to use PC hardware that wasn't proprietary, so it made PC games easy to bring onto Xbox. That's why PC RPGs (or "Western" RPGs) like Knights of the Old Republic, Fable, Jade Empire, Morrowind and others made it onto Xbox. To a large extent, that still remains true. Xbox is actually one of the leading game developers in the WRPG space with giants such as Obsidian and Bethesda. And not to continue on too long, but Halo basically created the modern first person shooter genre, so the rest is history. :) Anyway, hope you continue to enjoy and live out your gaming life.

@@Food4Dogs I just was browsing Xbox store and it looks like Japanese games are 60% right now because of Golden Week, it was very fortuitous, maybe there's something you can grab on there. Happy gaming.

@Food4Dogs

I'm a Fusion Freak 😄 I spend hours upon hours doing it. Love it. But that's the great thing about Persona: it lets you play as you wish. It is perfectly possible to play the game with doing just minimal fusion and concentrating on other things. I mentioned in my video how I'm using the skill cards more in this version; I'm sort of half convinced that you get more in Reload (well, you get more of everything bc you have so many more Shuffle times than in older Persona games!). So you can do some nice up-skilling with those.

@@Food4Dogs I definitely agree with you! The skill cards appear way more often in Persona 3. The Things I enjoy most about the persona games are the social links and the music. I just love fighting against a boss while listening to the music or just read through the stories of the characters.😁

Are you going to make more let's play videos of P3R?
@Food4Dogs
@Food4Dogs 5 ай бұрын
I wasn't really planning on it, freddie. I simply had a "gap" because other video projects are only half-completed, so I thought it would be fun to show a bit of how I manage things (or not manage, haha) in P3R. That's all. And it's not really a Let's Play video .. I don't do those. It's a heavily edited gameplay with commentary plus my narrative 'voice acting" (if you can call it that, hehe). Playthroughs always do very poorly on my channel and if I do one regularly, it'll be Ys VIII.

@@petrichorals No, I haven't. There seemed little point. I don't know if you've had a look around my channel yet, but I don't play mobile games, esp not gacha. It's just not my taste in games. HSR is only available for PS5 so far. If/when they release a PS4 version (perhaps even Xbox?), I might look at it *if* the gacha elements have been removed or downgraded significantly.
@petrichorals

@@Food4Dogs The reason why I recommended both was because their art style, combat mechanics, and especially stories seemed to be similar to what you liked. TBH, compared to many other games with a gacha system Genshin and HSR are extremely forgiving. You definitely don't need to spend any money because it already gives you everything you need to easily play through the game. Calling them mobile games would also be a misnomer; I'm not sure if you're aware but both are available on PC. Nevertheless I think you're fun to watch and as an avid fan of HSR and Genshin I would love to see you make some videos on them if you're ever looking for any new games to try.
