They changed the vibe a bit. P3 was the first Persona with major gameplay systems implemented and world wide success. It was still standing between what SMT was and what modern Persona is and they remade it with that in mind

I like P4 but the dungeons in that game are not only as boring as the ones in P3, I'd say they're MUCH worse since they don't even have the staircase rooms like in P3 that added at least SOME flair. Literally all P4 dungeons are just reskinned hallways. Also, unlike Tartarus which has one but ever changing and simple bgm, P4's dungeon themes are all somehow the most headache inducing Persona music which is mind boggling considering how good all persona music is. Heaven is an obvious exception, of course, but The Sauna and The Striptease themes actually made me want to rip my ears off while grinding dawg

Yeah, seconded. Visually the new tartarus is a clear improvement. But... I still think the dungeon crawling was better in the OG because it was actually MEANINGFUL and had stakes. In the original it was part of my routine to ready up so I'm feeling great and can go exploring, and this went on until I hit the current cap. In this one I just leave exploring to the 2nd to last day so I can get every lost git in one swoop. And does it feel like that fits the story and dialogue? Edit: also the difficulty made the rewards worthwhile and every inch of progress was earned, which makes up for the boring design because you spend a lot of time strategizing or fighting and when you do get to the point where you sweep in an area you're near the end which makes it a pay-off before you enter a new area with new loot and enemies which is exciting.

The first review I saw for Persona 3 Reload was legit “I sold my first kid for this game and it was worth it.” They are 100% right, this game was a fantastic remake to play and it should win an award at the GOTY.
