The one thing that bugs me about the encounter was the line about Yosuke not caring that she was dead and only came here to have an adventure. I don't really feel like that characterization plays out in any way in the rest of the game- Yosuke is clearly broken up by the death in later episodes and his social link. It makes more sense to believe that wasn't his only reason or that he didn't really think the connection between the TV World and his crush would pan out or something.

I never noticed they appeared at the beginning! 1:39:52 also...Saki's body didn't appear until the night after they left the TV...I'm assuming that means she was STILL IN the TV at the same time as them when they first go in, and they just didn't run into her :(

The comment’s two years old, but I wanted to mention that for all of the victims, the midnight channel only shows the bizarre show once people are inside, and it didn’t the night before. It wasn’t said what time Saki was thrown in, but your theory is probably right that the party was most likely in the Shadow world with her, and just didn’t find her. That kinda sucks.

(Spoiler) I think that most likely isn't the case. When the killer admits to killing Saki, it's most likely the case it was done later in the evening, saying "I saw you this afternoon, getting cozy with ********" , possibly to where they just missed each other. Also Teddie is able to somewhat pinpoint different people's scent (at least to the point where he can tell that someone else is in the TV other the team) and it would be kind of wierd that he didn't bring up one other person. The only reason I can't be certain though is because Teddie does say "somebody has been throwing PEOPLE in here", which could lean to Saki being in there at the same time, but Teddie thinks the team was thrown in there too so he might have been saying people as in Yamano and the team. Another argument against my claim could be that Dojima mentions Saki's disappearence when Yu gets home, which kinda leaves not much time for them to miss each other. (However I do find it wierd that Dojima is home early on a day where a witness for a very serious crime goes missing on a case he is working on. I also find it wierd that he brings up the disappearance of a girl you most likely would have never met. So I find this as more of a minor issue of the plot than a counterpoint.)

Igor's Japanese VA died... I think between P4 the game coming out and P4 the anime (Margaret does a lot of the heavy lifting there, with recycled lines they had on hand). They took *full* advantage of 'well, I guess they'll have to recast' for P5. XD (Igor is way too happy about a TERRIBLE CATASTROPHE BEING IMMINENT!!!)

Gotta say, as chockfull of symbolism and hidden meanings as the Persona series is - people in these comments are reading far too much into it. Feels like a 9th grade english paper in here. "Nanako likes the Junes theme as a coping mechanism" Or, maybe, juuuust maybe, she's a small child and it's an upbeat jingle. She said herself that they all sing it in her class - it's a thing that everyone in her age group enjoys.

I mean, Nanako's dungeon OST literally said that. "Still music keeps on turning me from the words that hurt my soul.... Removing doubts from my mind~". The music mentioned in "Heaven" is Junes theme. She may like Junes theme because of the upbeat jingle at first but it grew on to become her coping mechanism after her father keeps on leaving her for work

Everyone in Nanako's age group would also be lonely if their mother was passed away and their father is barely present in their life. She clearly uses the song as a distraction from stuff that makes her sad, the start of the game literally has that scene where the murder gets described on TV then Nanako changes the channel to a Junes commercial, starts singing and the prompt very distinctly reads "It seems Nanako has forgotten all about the scary story." after she starts jamming.

Compared to his analogs in P3 and P5, Yosuke is the only one I have legitimately bought as the MC's best friend. They perform similar functions in the plot and have broadly similar personalities but Yu and Yosuke just seem to connect and play off eachother so much better than Mianto and Junpie or Ren and Ryuji. They seem like genuine Bros. Not that I dislike Ryuji. And Junpie gets interesting once he gets some agency in the plot. But I never felt like they had any kind of special connection with their MCs.

I feel like Junpei is definitely the weakest in terms of connection to the MC, but I have just started p3 so that might change. I also just don’t like him yet I think.

@@tugsuumovies1999 Junpie is easily the worst party member in the series for me. I actually kinda hate him and if it weren't for fucking Kenji he would easily be the worst social pinning that game...it it has some of the worst links in the series. BUT I will give Atlus some credit. His story is also the most HIS OWN of any of them. He has his own arc in that game and while I never liked his character he's one of the few that develops a genuine life outside of Minato, Yu or Joker. He has goals and relationships and will ultimately get a powerful resolution that will be affected by Minato but isn't ABOUT him.

Something quite interesting, in p4, Jiraiya has wind skills and is weak against electricity while izanagi has electricity skills and is weak to wind. Meanwhile in p5, Arsene has curse skills and is weak to bless, Robin Hood has bless skills and is weak to curse, Captain Kidd has lightning skills and is weak to wind, and Zorro has wind skills and is weak to electricity. In p4, the elements of characters match people they are close with (Yu and Yosuke, Chie and Yukiko, can't remember if there are others), while p5 the elements match rivals (Ren and Akechi, Ryuji and Morgana, Ann and Yusuke). It doesn't work for all the characters, I don't think Haru and Makoto have a rivalry other than both being 3rd years, but I think it's pretty interesting and the difference between the games matches the tones of both games. Honestly, I just love comparing 4 and 5.

I live in a city of 9K people, which is the commercial center and largest city of the county, and when I mentioned to someone that I grew up in a city of 40,000 people I was asked if I ever missed the big city. Exactly what kind of skewed picture of reality does someone have to have to consider 70,000 "a small town" and use the word "only"?

Probably someone who lives exclusively around places like Los Angeles or New York. Their description of it as a 'small town' is somewhat inaccurate, as the real-life basis for much of Inaba's locations (Fuefuki, Japan) had a population of just above 70K as of the 2010 census. Per Japanese law, a municipality has to have a population of at least 50,000 to be designated as a city.

My city has 150k people in it and is still only in the mid 40's for cities by population in California. 70k wouldn't even put it in the top 125. Japan has over 3 times our population and is roughly the same size. That comment is parroting Atlus not necessarily giving a personal opinion. Atlus was mostly referring to entertainment when they made these references. They were looking for an area that wasn't lit up and active 24/7/365. They chose a community that lacks the clubs, sporting and community events that are common to larger cities and is primarily living, farming and light industrial base.

I think p5 takes place a few years after p4. So I dont think that's the case. I kind of want to see the p4 casts thoughts on the phantom thieves though. In p5 the phantom thieves have been talked about throughout all of Japan and even talked about in the US some what. So the cast would have heard about it at least

5000 yen is only around $50. They just don't have the decimal like USD. Though of course today the value is a fair bit lower than the dollar still, though they are usually rather similar in price. Right now 100 yen is only worth around $0.72. As you can see, it's just removing the decimal so instead of saying $1 it's 100 yen.

@evanmiller4502 heavy disagree personally, i think the story in 3 doesn't get remotely interesting till like 30 hours in so the story pacing in 3 is unbearably slow, the characters espically before reload don't get much screentime to flesh them out etc. Only thing i would agree with is the ending cause persona 3 saves like all it's interesting plot points for near the end / the end of the game
