The only exception is P1's it's more of a triumphant song (PS1 version btw) mainly because of the context of the ending, the final battle is a desperate last stand and for the most part it ends happily, Eternal Punishment's is also more hopeful but the ending itself is still sad

Since you asked (sorta) - Lyn Inaizumi is a Japanese singer, she does acoustic Jazz/Soul music with another musician who goes by KB. Their album "One Day Conversation" is on Spotify and it's freakin gorgeous! Definitely worth a listen, Toren approved (tm) She's said on her socials that she's not very fluent in English and the P5 OST was a challenge for her. She's definitely got some awkward pronunciations here and there in her English tracks but she sounds pretty damn fluent to me! She's become one of my favorite singers, I am in love with that voice.

So fun fact: the reason so many JRPGs use English lyrics for songs through the game is so that they aren’t distracting to the Japanese audience. However that gets thrown out the window when it comes to credits (such as this) and opening themes more often than not.

This legit made me tear up. I remember the 140 ish hours I put into my first playthrough of P5R, even after playing P5 original, the ending is so bittersweet. The memories you made, the connections to the cast and the desire to see what happens after the credits stop rolling. Even though you likely wont know, you want it. This video made me relive that moment from nearly 2 years ago. Im not crying... I swear im not.

Holy shit. This song. This song plays both during a very emotionally impactful moment in the game as well as the credits. I cried both times. This is also the first time I've actually seen the translated lyrics and they're so closely related to the events of the game. Fuck, it's emotional. Needless to say, I'm on the verge of crying right now. I love this game so, so much.

I've played P5R but I don't even remember this song. Then again I thought P5R was a step down from P5, which was already the weakest of the 3 modern Persona games. Probably has something to do with it.

@@pezdispencer113 You might not have unlocked the Royal arc, which happens AFTER where vanilla P5 ends. You can only unlock it if you reached Rank 9 with Maruki before he leaves in November. Kasumi and Akechi’s confidant ranks are not required to unlock the new Royal arc, but you will be permanently locked out of continuing them if you don’t complete them in time (Rank 5 before the vanilla P5 ending for Kasumi, Rank 8 for Akechi before completing the Casino), and if you get locked out of completing their confidants you will be missing a LOT. Trust me, the Royal arc is WORTH it. I didn’t care much about Akechi after vanilla P5, but the new confidant ranks and the Royal arc made him one of my favorite video game characters of all time. Everything about this arc is MINDBLOWING and I can’t quote describe why without massively spoiling it.

I love all the Persona 5 songs you've been reacting to recently, easily one of my favorite game soundtracks to date. Really hope you'll eventually react to "Keep Your Faith" and "Throw Away Your Mask", they're the same song except "Throw Away Your Mask" has lyrics. It was one of the most impactful final boss themes I've ever heard especially with the story the lyrics tell and also just a really catchy song to boot. You should definitely try Persona 5 Royal someday, an amazing game even without the amazing soundtrack ^^

DrazyDark, I saw your comment from an email from KZbin. I assume you deleted it because you realized you were wrong. It is “can” and not “can’t” because it makes no sense in the context of the boss to be “can’t”. If an omnipotent being wants you to have your dreams come true, he would something like “don’t sleep through your dreams that can actually come true”, not “can’t”.

The song plays at the end of the game during an impactful moment and as the end credit song. The song is basically about the Protagonists feelings towards another character at the end of the last 3rd of the game (which can only be reached by fulfilling certain conditions). I recommend Ying Yang from Persona 4 The Golden Animation... I'd recommend finding one with Lyrics because Engrish.

P5R is just one of those life-changing RPGs. I have *never* felt the kind of attachment to a cast as I do The Phantom Theives of Hearts. I just hate that Strikers and Royal contradict each other, because Sophia and Zenkichi are amazing as well, but sadly are not canon since Royal is the definitive story, and Strikers ignores Royal completely. Can I also just say what a phenomenal vocalist Lyn is, like my God. P5R nailed it on every front, and I cannot recommend it enough. It was my entry point into the franchise and I'm never looking back. Hoping someone will request Last Surprise soon ^^b But ya, TL;DR Persona 5 Royal is easily in the top 5 greatest RPGs of all time. EDIT: Her name is Lyn Inaizumi, and she's absolutely bilingual ;)
@tempest2789
@tempest2789 2 жыл бұрын
P5R is not anymore canon than P5S is, as far as we know at the moment. Both were being developed at the same time so they couldn't be connected because one team had no idea of the plot the other team was making. Considering that Royal is a rewrite, while Strikers is a sequel, I'd say Strikers has a bid of an edge on the canonicity. That said, objectively speaking, we are currently in a Schrödinger's Cat situation. Both are canon (multiverse) until the next game set in the P5 universe.
@jacksonbrickmedia939
@jacksonbrickmedia939 2 жыл бұрын
@Tempest271 There is nothing contradicting p5R in p5S so they could very well both be canon. The only thing inconsistent is the odd lack of sumire but it’s not enough to de canonize Strikers. If one of them had to be canon though, I would personally very much prefer if royal was.
@tempest2789
@tempest2789 2 жыл бұрын
@@jacksonbrickmedia939 True, there are not direct contradictions and both could be made canon if there is another P5 game in the future. Which is why I said that, as of now, both are canon/non-canon until further confirmation That said, since P5S was also marketed as P5-2, I lean more to the side of "Strikers is canon, while Royal is a WhatIf"

I cried when the credits came out with the song, it's like finishing watching an anime after so much time of watching the story and the laughter, sometimes it makes my hair stand on end when I hear it on YT, the song is about the conclusion that the game had depending on the player's decision, this song only plays with a bad ending, it is about deciding to live in a false dimension of the world, created by the villain where everything is perfect and people evade reality, the bad and sad things that exist in the world

Your comments, particularly that the song seems to express a multi-faceted antagonist, one that is not inherently evil, it pretty close to what happens in the game. However, spoiler alert, the battle theme apples to a different character than the one pictured. The pictured character is actually the protagonist of the game. However, the antagonist of the battle is indeed a conflicted character who does not wish to fight, as they are actually fond of the protagonist, but sees no other way. So the song represents both inner and outer conflicts.

Imma be honest I really don't like this song Imo the chorus is weirdly slow and unsatisfying, this song is a new track that plays during the credits for P5R. The original credits theme is called with the stars and us and it is also slow but feels a lot more satisfying and full of emotion while our light is a song I listen to and just go "aight"

"The Stars and Us" definitely has a more triumphant feeling to it; "Our Light" seems more uncertain and somber, which I think is appropriate given the apparent loss of a certain character during the endgame.
@Phyllion-

I want to say this is pretty intentional. With The Stars And Us is about trudging forward believing in yourself, the things you stand for and your memories, while Our Light is about vowing to keep walking on after a grievous loss. It's only natural that the former feels more emotional while the other has a less satisfying flow, it's meant to be somber and perhaps even incomplete, you may say.
