The reason the expulsion matters is because the Protag is on probation and will be sent to juvie if he causes any problems. Him being expelled from Shujin, especially with Kamoshida's claims that he was threatened by the Protag, clearly fall under the category of "causing trouble". So yeah. Being expelled is kinda a big deal and not something we can just shrug off. Can someone point this out next stream?

Also, not confiding in adults is just something written into the Protag, and it makes sense. At this point, literally every single authority figure in his life has either actively worked against him, or has given up on him. Like, Sakura and Kawakami are the most "positive" authority figures in his life currently, and they both clearly don't like him, and he also only met them like a week ago. Makes total sense why he doesn't confide in them.

A comment from part 2 last year sums this up perfectly: "I love that the game poses the "I don't want to be a murderer" potential and answers it almost immediately with a "oh, oh is that right?" and throws Shiho off a building. Really calls your determination into question RIGHT away" And i Fully agree, the insanely fast 180 this game makes you feel towards Kamoshida Of "nobody deserves death" to "....maybe some people do...." is something i've never seen re-created ever.

24:40 I always have a morbid appreciation of how evil this game really is. Its gone out of its way to essentially starve you of any positive reinforcement or support beyond Ryuji. And then it gives you this wonderful sunshine child who is the sole voice of kindness in this wilderness. And the only reason it does this is so it can make you feel extra horrible later.

P5 and P5R do an excellent job of grabbing your attention in the beginning with the Shiho and Kamoshida storyline. Also, one thing that I don't think gets talked about enough is that, up until this point, Ryuji, who everyone says is violent and a thug, is the one that doesn't want to resort to violence.

Ann's Persona's name, "Carmen", is sadly not a reference to Carmen Sandiego, despite them both being female super thieves dressed entirely in red. It's actually a reference to the famous opera called Carmen. One of its most famous music pieces is a song called "Toreador March". You probably know it as the FNAF Game Over theme, though...

Their arcana reflects not only what they can be for Joker but also their circumstances. Tarot can be read right sight up and upside down and one negative reading of the Lovers Arcana is _Obsession_ Basically the negative reading of her Tarot card is where she starts of and the positive is what she brings to the team and the world.

LOVE the fencing story. I also took fencing classes that had a lot of stories and can confirm, a proper rapier is SOLID. In fact they're fairly heavy as swords go. For proper protection you both have very thick protective jackets AND padded tips that are as big around as quarters.

Jacob haven't been able to catch you live, but you'll notice really soon that Ann's actually not your healer (it's the cat😂) she's more of a debuff and distract (who can also heal.) And if you get another die and retry like what happened with Ann's awakening; the second time you should have defended with ryuji (so he wouldn't get a one more against you.) But you're doing pretty well so far otherwise; and I'm here for it😁

Honestly the most infuriating thing about Kamoshida is how genuinely good he is at his job, having gotten the team to nationals, but still acts the way he does. Like, the only person he's proving himself to at this point IS himself, and he never quite measures up to his own ego. So he takes that perceived failure and the frustration it brings him out on others. He's SUCH a good villain. Said it before, but he feels TOO good for the first villain you go up against, and the rest of the base game antagonists just can't really measure up.

Ima be honest here... this story deserves better characters. Or at least smarter ones. The story is basically diet coke Death Note, but it's still very interesting and approaches the "stealing the heart" thing from many different fun angles. But we're looking at it all not just from the eyes of kids who don't know better, which is fine... we're forced to look through the eyes of complete morons, who have to have everything explained to them multiple times, don't understand or notice basic things, etc. Makes the game way more frustrating than it should be.
