There are definitely some cool “camera movement” shots - like when grandma was waiting outside the city borders or when Okarun’s name is revealed in the first episode.

All of them are adults. Shinomiya is 18-19 (she can't drink because the drinking age is 20), while Kafka is 32, and everybody else is somewhere in between them. Also, honestly, if Kafka were trying to go for the kill, he would have turned the vice captain into vapor. He is STRONG (they use the same scale as earthquakes, so 9.8 is approaching the theoretical limit of 10.0) and one solid hit is enough to kill any human not wearing a numbered Kaiju weapon.

I'm pretty sure Percy laid the full name on them--it just took the entire intro to get through.
Man. It's wild how the fan letter girl is only one year younger than Rebecca and Pudding, isn't it?

Im on vacation next week, but i love your speculation / lore dive theorizing. Suggestion: after episode 10 rewatch the end credits again before watching episode 11. There are two conversations in 11 that massively alter the meaning of the end credits.

"Die with a laughing dmile on his face" Did you mishear him? Bot once has Toshinori gone into a fight expecting to lose. Hes here to beat OFA, and he's going to continue helping his students grow - he made that promise several seasons ago, and i have no doubt he intends to fulfill it.

It's so fucking good. The Straw Hat pirates are goofballs just living their lives and having their adventure, but they shine so brightly in their pursuit of their dreams that they touch everyone they brush past. They leave just one piece of themselves in everyone and those pieces sometimes come together to form a miracle.

TBH, I do want to ask for the SoS community (that pretty active on discord etc) about, is there any mention from Jacob/Caleb about the continuation of One Piece manga reading? Me pretty much only active on their youtube reaction or twitch stream. And for twitch stream, I really dont want to ask/mention (in this case, One Piece related content) anything that not related to things that they doing while streaming, because it can be consider rude.

Love the show of the crazy epic scale of the main story using Oars Jr.'s cut-off leg there. Only couple seconds show of power. Massive Giant has his leg cut off & that was it. Ok, how about a "btw someone got stuck under that thing" just... yeah, pretty insane 🤯

Why do you guys are still going with the idea that Kafka should transform for everyone to see? Are we forgetting he is a Kaijuu? Would also appreciate if you guys actually paid attention and could be serious about the show. It's all theories and laughs apparently... But, what can i expect when you don't even care about youtube comments lol.

I'm so happy you guys picked up on the mom's situation. People tend to not be sympathetic to her at all or see pass her words to how well Miri had been raised up to that point. She's not the best but she didn't take it out on Miri.

as a huge Nami fan I fell in love with this little fangirl, she is precious, and she shows how important the less physically powerful strawhats are in their own way. The ending sequence and the marineford sequence with the brothers never fails to get me to tear up. the way they show the war as this horrible thing from the perspective of the little guys. just an absolute nightmare. Every second, every frame, every choice, truly a perfect episode worth a thousand rewatches <3 truly a fan letter, to one piece, to the strawhats, and to the fans

First thing I want to mention before I forget: They actually live in Fukuoka, not Tokyo! Also, the place their apartment is based off of (at least on the outside) is actually a hotel in Fukuoka, so fans of the show can stay at that hotel and then visit all of the real life locations that are shown throughout the series. Anyway, moving onto this episode and my thoughts on your reactions - I have to say, you both have had the absolute best reaction to this episode! Being completely honest here, but this episode is my make-it-or-break-it episode when it comes to Buddy Daddies reactions, especially when the reactors are men. Sadly, far too often, this episode really brings out a lot of gross sexism and misogynistic thinking in a lot of reactors, especially male reactors. But listening to your reactions and your thoughts after - you both got this episode and the complexity it was presenting in regards to Miri's mother and motherhood in general in Japan. A lot of times, people who have never seen Buddy Daddies, but know the summary or basics about the plot, often assume that it is a "children are great, have children!" sort of show. A show meant to encourage people to have children. But anyone who has actually watched the episodes, especially this one - Episode 3 - quickly realizes and understands that this series is about the harsh realities, sacrifices, and difficulties of having a child. Not just the wholesome, good, and sweet moments. It's like a reality check. Going back to Miri's mother, being a single mother anywhere is tough, but it is extra hard in Japan. There is a lot more stigma attached to single motherhood in Japan than in say America, and there are less safety nets in place for women. I believe that child support pay from the father is something fairly new and isn't really enforced all that much at all. Co-visitation/rights and the like does happen, but isn't all that common either. Single motherhood in Japan really is just struggling. Then there is the added trauma from how it sounds like Miri was conceived and the abusive nature of the relationships that Miri's mother seems to have with men. None of it seems to be all that good, but we can see a lot of good in Miri, so there is the potential and hope that her mother did try and give it her all, and tried to make the right choices in the end. Anyway, I believe I remember you both discussing adoption in a previous episode discussion. When it comes to child adoption, Japan has very little, some of the lowest numbers when it comes to developed nations and the like. They have high adult adoption rates due to things like needing heirs to pass down family businesses and the like, but child adoptions in Japan are few and far in-between. Adoption is just deeply uncommon with a lot of emphasis being placed on blood ties, heteronormativity (since same-sex couples can't adopt children, though they CAN foster children), and the nuclear family when it comes to Japan's ideas surrounding parents, children, and families. Also, Japan has this very weird system and rule in place where, basically, even if a child is put up for adoption and is adopted, the mother of the child is still legally bound to their child via guardianship and such. So, adoption was never really a viable option for Miri's mother either, since she would still be legally bound to and connected to Miri (having to sign off on legal things regarding Miri, etc.). It's an odd rule that likely also holds back people from putting their children up for adoption and from adopting children. Finally, for something a little brighter and more amusing, the Episode 3 memo note on the website was written by Rei to Kazuki (they have their own, individual handwriting so you can tell who writes each memo based on the writing style). Rei's note to Kazuki states: 'Buy more Chocolate Circle cereal.'
