When I first played Persona 5, I thought
"Wow, this Shibuya feels like real Shibuya!"
I couldn't suppress my curiosity and decided to make this. Walked around Shibuya for 3, or 4 hours and shot these locations. Then I tried to reproduce the footage in-game by playing P5.
Synchronizing was a bit of work and not everything went as I hoped but I hope you enjoy this :)

Shibuya's slowly starting to not look like this anymore. For example, the building on 7:00 where the author of the vid exits is being rebuilt now, and the green train car is no longer there. This made me think how life is ever changing and you gotta appreciate the moment.

Yeah, I didn't realize it when I made this video but now I'm starting to feel like, when more construction is done and Shibuya changes even more in the future, maybe this video becomes some sort of asset to look back at Shibuya in a specific period. It's a bit sad though, to be honest. Shibuya becoming not like Shibuya in P5...

It's so cool though. When videogames recreate real world locations faithfully, it is like looking back at the past - almost like a time mahine. There is something about games that, while you're playing them, they feel more immersive than just looking at a photo or video. Given how popular P5(R) became, chances are it will be preserved and replayed by fans several decades into the future.

Joker moves at practically a light jog, and some of the spaces got scaled down in the game for asset compression, cutting wasted space, and to specifically reduce time spent traveling for the player. Altogether though, incredibly faithful recreation.
