there are more adults characters in comparison than before tho, Sepia, Vino, Kira, Musubi. Yumi and Kayo are 6 grown men already, and then theres also Reo, Yaoling, Ayaka and more that i forgot that are 19-20, so not too bad

As much as i enjoy p5x there is not a day i go without thinking about how good it would be if p5x was just a paid game on all platforms including mobile, especially when according to the developers, the story has already been fully planned out. The gacha elements are just a stain on what would otherwise be what eternal punishment is to persona 2 innocent sin. Being forced to open the game everyday so i can run the limit break battle and turn on auto along with 3x speed for 3 minutes so I won't miss out on the barely noticable daily's exp so it won't take even longer for me to get a new level isn't exactly the most fun task ever.

You should check and make your opinion on Japanese version of P5X. They showed that Japanese version will have blood in awakening animations and also characters will have golden yellow eyes just like in P5/P5R so there will be most likely more changes and differences from China versions which I'm happy about.

I was excited when I first heard the news. But now that I'm clean off gacha as a game mechanic, not really that interested. And delaying different builds for different version is a surefire way that itll get less attention. The community will be disjointed, diffrent aspect of different versions of the game will be talked about at any given update, that a lot of people will get confused. At the very least, itll turn off the casuals.

Im actually excited.i know everyone like to crap on gaccha games. but despite them being gaccha. F2p players can always clear content without even spending money. I play all my gacchas as f2p and have yet to run into a issue of me not having a strong enough team. Its all about learning how to build and put together teams properly.

Hey Johne, Played P5X in the HK/TW server and honestly thought this could be a significant step forward for Atlus. Since they can now experiment with different things and see what works out the best. Then maybe implement such features into their future games (Persona & other series). I believe things will really start to diverge out from the whole P5, Royal etc. aspects around version 2.0 (once all the OG cast has been released) then from there we will have better insight in the direction to be taken for the future. As of now I am quite enjoying the story, i absolutely do hope they will continuing adding more adult characters to the game! Also heard about whats going on with Hurricane Milton on the news, so hope you stay safe out there. Cheers

I am a person who lives in Korea and plays P5X. The monthly subscription, battle pass, weekly subscription that comes out every time a character is released, and a 60% discount package are all available. In other words, you can get most of the characters by spending about $40 for each new character release, so I like Hoyo Bus' game. Unlike others, you can get characters and weapons very cheaply.

I already knew I wouldn’t be interested in a gacha game (I have an addictive personality so I know that wouldn’t be safe for me) but watching gameplay just out the nail in the coffin. I love the persona series and P5R was my first game so I love this setting and the characters. Grinding in regular mementos may suck but I know what I’m going to get. Grinding in gacha mementos and the story isn’t as linear and with a sense that the way you spend your time has a major effect….its just not what I’m looking for. Looking forward to metaphor and to watch clips about this games story. I love the palaces and the way distortions affect characters, but I don’t need to engage in a gacha game to do that.

I’ll be honest. I play some Hoyo games, and while they’re fine and I don’t have anything against people that play them, the idea of a Gacha version of a game that I love dearly makes me sick to my stomach. I strongly prefer traditional games, because every Gacha game’s mechanics is totally weighed down by its monetization system. Having to log in every day and do chores sucks. Not being able to get good weapons without gambling on the chance sucks. Not being able to enjoy a core cast of characters you really get to know because the game has to constantly introduce more sucks! Having to be around for events so you won’t miss vital story components sucks. Weather or not I even enjoy the game is going to depend on weather or not I pull characters with play mechanics that I like, which is totally up to chance. Sorry, I’m just ranting at this point.

I hope power creep doesn't taint P5X like it did Star Rail. Ever since the Argenti update it felt like you needed the new banner characters just to play the new parts of the game, which is ultimately why I dropped it after the first anniversary.

I loved Star Rail when it first released but I couldn't keep playing for this exact reason. Turn based gacha games just aren't good ideas. You can't be tactical when what you have at your disposal is limited to whatever you got lucky pulling. Doesn't help each character only has 2/3 skills that have extremely specific uses.

As someone who has been cursed by artifact/relic systems for years, I did have my concerns about this. But if it does have good qol to alleviate some of the random grind I might have to at least give them the benefit of the doubt for a few days...if the game ever comes over. The game was fun despite it being a gacha. I think the model they were following development-wise just doesn't match with Persona as a whole. I stopped playing right as the Yusuke and Makoto patch ended though so I'm not sure what it's like now, but they definitely do listen to feedback which is good

I think that a lot of things about this game look really good, but I will certainly still stay away just because I genuinely feel bad when I play gacha/mobile type games. Like, pit in my stomach, slight headache, "Why am I kinda empty right now?" type bad. I played Genshin back in the day and enjoyed it enough for a few of the early months, but I fell off after I noticed the above symptoms. I find way more enjoyment in just engaging with some of the fringe culture surrounding gacha games rather than actually devoting basically all of my free time to one. I mean, I'm trying to play through the entire Trails series here! I don't have time to play Star Rail, too!

I stuck with Epic Seven since its inception for the longest time until 1 mismanaged move too many made me quit, and ever since then, absolutely nothing has been checking my boxes for the high standards that game set. You forgot about SMT Dx2 gacha game, which has one of the greediest way handled since launch needing paid currency just to summon the featured banner after a year of that game ieft it. It still feels like it's primarily a gacha game. Yes, it's far more persona coded than others, but it's still impossible for someone without money to comfortably play for more than an hour, unlike other persona games, and even other RPGs in general, which you get on in the morning, plan to only play for a few minutes, aaaand it's already night. Yes, it's far more forgiving than other gacha games, but again, it's still a gacha game, and in gacha games, getting stronger is entirely built upon luck and ingame currency that probably needs to be bought using real world currency. I feel like this is a gacha game that is probably worth it if you love gacha games and want something chill, but it doesn't have that great of a story, so it's not for me.

Farming takes resources that cost absurd amounts of money or time, getting characters costs resources that cost absurd amounts of money or time, getting anything good from those takes lots of luck that most people don't have. If a gacha game doesn't have a good story, it's not worth the pain of farming. The story of Phantom X is OK, but barely has any substance. A persona game is good when complete, but when it's broken into updates, it loses that continuity and time limit that makes persona games great.

Also, in the case of most competitive gachas, if you're F2P, in the eyes of the developer you only exist to be the food of someone stronger, i.e., be stomped by people who actually invest money into the game, while you, effortlessly, try to reach their power without spending money, but spending a LOT of time. It's a system consolidated in psychologically manipulating its player base through gambling, FOMO and dark patterns. It's no surprise some countries in Europe outright ban these types of games or, at least, try to create laws that mitigate the damage done to the consumers.

Obviously, gachas usually have a higher incentive in doing so with a quicker route to your wallet but fundamentally it’s not that different from other games. I’d personally rather play a free game that gives me a good chance at getting the content than a full priced game that adds gratuitous DLC as a way of hiding content behind a paywall Though for the competitive gacha stuff I can’t speak on because I haven’t dabbled in it. I’m sure what you said is true so if P5X goes down a route where it’s unplayable without dropping coin, then I will drop the game. But so far, it’s been more fun than some games I’ve had to drop 50 bucks on and I’ve probably played it longer

if you get a dupe it gives an additional passive for the character up to 6 times, for weapons it just increases the stats

Some of us Can't get P5 and never played P5 during it's release And P5R . Just saying Other countries that can't afford a console or time For it , so P5X is a good game for The more busy person

Maybe in the future when Switch 2 releases and people start trading in their old consoles, you can get one and buy the trio of Persona games on digital for dirt cheap. Then at least there you don't have to worry about an EOS announcement and can sink however much time you want without having to commit to it daily and potentially burning out.

@JohneAwesome i didn't mean the actual social links, I meant the characters. It was a cheeky reduction of the P5X system. I'm all for IPs having gacha games as they can be good if they did correctly, but dang P5X looks like they looked at the current trends in gacha games and just lazily slapped a P5 coat of paint over it. Also, a Gacha game getting regional releases is never a good sign as that means Global servers are 9/10 are set up to fail because if the original regions aren't hitting their expectations then global is always the first to go. Not to doom post, just posting from experience of playing gacha games for the past decade. Hopefully the game does well.
