Don't get me wrong, I like PQ2's story, but what OP said is the exact reason why I prefer PQ1 over it. It's a true crossover between both games' characters, themes, and messages. Somehow, they were able to synthesize two different stuff into something that's both captivating modern JRPG standards and reminiscing the classics (notably Maki Sonomura from P1). It's arguably one of the best JRPG stories in this generation despite its chibi aesthetics.

@@Schwuga well its also got quite a few similarities with the etrian odyssey games which are also on the ds, and i dont think that knowing the characters is a problem as i know quite a few people who have never played a persona game and know quite a few of the characters, and personally i think that the type of game persona q is works really well on the ds also the problem with your arguement is that people MIGHT not know who the cast is which is not a problem since the characters personalities are shown of and explained for the few people who don't know who they are. And assuming that not a single person who plays the 3DS will not know the persona games is pretty dull really.

Tips for anyone having trouble, use Naoto and Minato with Mahama/ Mamudo, it really makes random encounters easier. Also, if you use Ken, you are not my friend.

Yep, Naoto is broken in this game because of how easy it is to hit enemies with dark and light skills. Still not using her too much because of personal preference xD

Well I use Ken and he Rocks pretty hard. I am in my first playthrough (normal difficultly) right now and in the 4th Labyrinth. I never played P3 ore 4. Only P5 My team is : P3 guy, Aigis, Koramaru, Zen and Ray, Ken. With his high luck staat Ken is a monster when it comes to instant kills and status effects. A true godsend against FOEs and Elizabeth. I know she is not really trying but I was shocked how easy the first 2 Elizabeth battles where. And when I tried to fight that fast runner FOE in the 4th Labyrinth I was also shocked how easy he went down.
