Personal CD Player Review: KOVCDVI Portable CD Player KC-918

The KOVCDVI Portable CD Player is a great way to listen to your CD collection on the go without having to buy a 20 year old second hand personal CD player from Sony or Panasonic which may or may not work.

press and hold the mode button (M) and there will be a small light on the screen flashing as it tries to connect to the speaker/headphones

Thanks for the comment, and yes it impressed me too. Better in some ways than the players we all had in the 90s. Just wish the buttons were easier to see! Lol

My Xmas present to play my much loved collection of CDs. Took me a while to marry it with my Trubit blue tooth, but the sound is very good. Like you mentioned, the control front is a pain. Thanks fur the tips.

Would like to see how the hell you get cd's in and out without bending them or scratching them on the spindle as it appears you have to slide them in under the top. I waited and waited and you never showed it....

why is it that when I try to play a disc, the display says CD and NO below it ?

You have a lot of CDs in the background, so you're not a newbie, but you still didn't consider demonstrating how does it fail doing its basic functions

It's really down to what I mentioned in the video mate: The buttons are not illuminated so hard to hit the right one in the dark, also they don't feel very different under the fingers and the Bluetooth didn't work with some of my headphones. Hope that clears things up.

@@mattsmusichannel Well, the main feature is a CD player, and I was really upset finding out it adds gaps between the seamlessly-transitioned tracks, and even cuts the first two seconds if you skip to the next track. If at least one youtuber shown it, I'd never consider it buying, but people focus on additional features more.

@@linoleumful Oh wow, mine doesn't do either of those things. I would certainly have mentioned it if so. I suspect these players are built with whatever parts are cheapest and that may change batch to batch. Maybe that's the issue here. Couldn't really say though mate. The playback function is fine on my example, and while I don't tend to skip around too much I did test that function and it didn't cut off the start of the track.

@@mattsmusichannel yeah, that's possible. Yet the seamless playback without half-second gap is pretty rare in modern cheap players. It gives the feeling like it loads every track from youtube music or something, lol Most of the modern artists don't use those transitions anymore because everyone streams separate tracks nowadays, so it's hardly noticeable.

Finally got it working. put speaker into pair mode. Turn on cd player, long hold the M bottom to start Bluetooth searching / pairing. Good luck

Can you connect it with AirPods Pro?

Yes, just got mine and it works great with the AirPods Pro. You just need to set the AirPods in pairing mode then hold the M button on the cd player and it will connect. It will auto-connect to the Airpods when it's turn on after that.
